We have come to Tennessee this time of year, November, for many years. We have always loved coming to Mountain Valley Winery and enjoying their delicious slushy. This year, however when we stopped by, in order to buy a slushy you now had to buy an insulated Tumbler for $22 plus tax. Granted you were probably getting double the slushy in these but our group of 4 spent over $88 in tumblers for the slushy’s because they were $22 apiece. When asking about refills on them, we were told that we could refill them for 7.00 but only on the same day, same visit. While the 7.00 is a great price because you’re getting probably double what you used to, you cannot return on another day with your Tumbler and get it refilled. So with that being said, when we come back next year and would want to go in and partake in their slushy’s, you would have to buy the tumblers all over again and pay another $44 plus tax per couple. When we inquired about the reasoning for this or who came up with this idea, we were given some crazy story that it’s because of young kids and the car shows and state laws not wanting people to indulge too much but however, they said if we were there and bought one we could buy another and another and another as long as it was on the same day, so how is that not wanting people to over indulge too much on the same visit. We have also in the past bought some of their cute things they sell in their store, but ……While we love their slushies , we will not be returning.
Wine tasting with Cesar was awesome!
Love the blackberry wine
The wines were very good that we sampled. Didn't have one I tried that I didn't like. Kayla was our wine tasting conaseure and was very knowledgeable about the wines we were tasting. We informed her to our taste preference and she walked us threw the wines we would like . We re not big wine fans but what she recommends was perfect for us. Very satisfied. Can't go wrong with kayla
What an amazing tour and winery! We had a great time on our tour! It was a great time and delicious wines! Thanks for providing a great tour! I highly recommend this winery tour!
Pretty good wine and all made on property and ingredients from local sources whenever possible.
Wines are incredibly sweet, which is average for this area & expected. The winery is cute, but they charged us for our free tasting even though we didn’t ask for any extra (was pushed one more than the 4 by the server). Then asked for a slushie and a glass of wine to take out back. He charged us for the cups, which we did not ask for & ended with a $55 bill at the end because of $30 in cups which aren’t even actually from the winery and are from 2020. Their card machine did not work either & it was a hassle to leave there. Do not recommend.
We recently came by Mountain Valley Winery for a tasting. You get to try 4 for free. Between my husband and me, here is what we tried - some we tried the same.
*Muscadine Sweet Tea - I did not try this one as I don't like sweet tea, but my husband really liked this one as you got both the sweet tea and muscadine flavors. It was definitely different than anything of what he has had before.
*Muscadine - it's good, better muscadine flavor than what I remembered, but still better muscadine wines out there.
*Southern Peach - it's good, but still have had better peach wines.
*Mountain Berry - my husband liked this one more than me.
*Tropical paradise - a bit of flavor going on, it's good.
*Mountain Valley Red - it's good, and also better than what I remembered.
While the wines were fine, I wasn't necessarily wowed by any of them. Nothing remarkable to take a bottle home, except for the muscadine sweet tea for the husband.
Service was just okay, gloomy rainy day must have caused for some gloomy service.
Great place !! Karen gave us exceptional service. If you like sweet wine the blackberry wine is awesome ❤️
Such a great experience tasting this wine. Cesar did a great job at explaining the wines, and he was super friendly. We really enjoyed the view as well. HIGHLY recommend!
Poor customer service. Better wines found at other wineries in Gatlinburg.

Great service and wine. The lady who did our tasting whose name I cannot recall was super welcoming and informative! Jen was so nice to us also and opened the back patio for me and my wife to enjoy our drinks with a beautiful view. Thank you for a great experience! Highly recommended
Muscadine, sweet tea is amazing!
Great wines. The slushies are my favorite. Beautiful patio area to relax. Dog friendly.
Delicious sweet wines! I picked up the Muscadine wine, honestly the best I've had - it flooded childhood memories of Muscadine vines we had on our property growing up. Kayla was super kind to my friend and I, especially it being our first time, she was genuine with her recommendations on what we should try. The blueberry slushie was phenomenal and made for a gorgeous day sitting out on their patio enjoying the river/mountain view.
It’s been 15 years since we visited this location. Samples were great and the staff is friendly. Good selection of sweet wines and snacks available.
