Everything can be fine at the Pottery House, but I'm giving this a 1 star because the entire experience can be ruined from the start. They allow for 2 points of entry, so even if you're literally the first person there, you still may not get to sit where you want because someone may get in the other door faster. If that's not bad enough, no one monitors the back patio to keep entitled people from just walking up and seating themselves and aren't told to move even though a few people were waiting in line. This situation is intolerable, and the management needs to just have everyone come in through the front door and not let anyone come in through the back.

edit: And 3 years later they're still pulling the same garbage by letting people in one door first. It's bad when you have to divide your party to make sure you get seated in the proper order.

Came here with my family of 5. Everyone loved their food. Very fresh. Great service. Nice, comfortable atmosphere. Not overly priced like many places in the area. I usually don't like grits but their cheesy grits paired with their chicken gumbo was delicious. We will be back for sure

They food was amazing. The atmosphere was great. We sat outside and you didn't feel in the city.. very well done. The menu could have red better seemed dated. I had to scan three times. I settled on the burger. But we were a party of 7. Two got burgers, two got the chicken pot pie, two got the chicken quesadilla. And one got the steak. The steak came out perfect nice good sized. The chicken pot pies were huge, and filling, the burgers were gourmet Angus burgers, ingot the southerner. My taste buds were watering and sensations of smacking yo mama will come it's so good.(Sorry mama). The quesadilla wrap were also a good size and tasted really good. The bread is made in house and you can tell. The plates are all pottery and we loved all of it. We will be back.

Overall, the food was good, especially the shrimp and grits. I’m not completely sure about the service quality, though. Our waitress was pretty passive, and we had to wait for her several times. She also skipped our refills, so we had to ask each time instead of having them offered proactively.

One thing that was disappointing was the “hot chocolate cake” on the menu. It was not actually hot. It was served cold, straight from the fridge, so I’m not sure why it is called hot chocolate cake.

That said, there were definitely some highlights. I would recommend trying the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. They were really good. We also had soup, which was fine. The in-house bread was awesome, and I would definitely recommend trying it. They serve it for free as an appetizer, which is a nice touch.

Overall, the food had some strong points, but the service could be improved.

We had such a fantastic experience at The Old Mill Pottery House Café in Pigeon Forge! After a long day at Dollywood with a group of tired adults and hungry kids, this restaurant was exactly what we needed.

From the moment we sat down, our server (Hakan) was exceptional. He brought fresh, warm bread to the table immediately, and when the kids devoured it after a full day at the park, he happily brought more without us even having to ask. He stayed on top of drink refills and made sure everyone had everything they needed throughout the meal.

The menu offers a great variety of options at very reasonable prices. Every meal that came to our table looked beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked. Even though we arrived close to closing time, the staff never made us feel rushed or like we were inconveniencing them. They were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind.

In fact, we enjoyed our experience so much that after our second day at Dollywood, our entire group chose to come back instead of trying somewhere new. On our second visit, we sat on the patio, which was absolutely beautiful, and once again received outstanding service.

It's rare to find a restaurant that consistently delivers great food, excellent service, a relaxing atmosphere, and reasonable prices. The Old Mill Pottery House Café exceeded our expectations in every way. If you're visiting Pigeon Forge, this is a must-visit restaurant!

I can't say enough great things about this restaurant. The gumbo with andouille sausage was amazing. There is a pond with ducks and fish in the courtyard. The menu is great for adults and kids as well.

Best dinner we had all week on our vacation!
Our server was Meg W. Not only was she so kind, but so patient with our large family also! She was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of from the moment we sat down to the moment we left.
The food was so delicious! The bread alone was phenomenal and I wish we would’ve gotten some to take back home.
We will absolutely be back during our next vacation and I hope to have Meg as our server again during our next visit!

The Old Mill Pottery Café was one of the highlights of our trip to Pigeon Forge! From the moment we sat down, the service was warm and welcoming, and the food exceeded our expectations.
The warm sourdough bread is absolutely incredible and worth the visit all by itself. Fresh, flavorful, and served warm, it's the perfect start to the meal. The Chicken Florentine was outstanding—perfectly cooked, rich, and full of flavor without being overly heavy.
Be sure to save room for dessert! The homemade pies and cakes are truly exceptional and provide the perfect ending to a wonderful dining experience. Everything tasted fresh and made from scratch.
If you're visiting Pigeon Forge and looking for a delicious meal with Southern hospitality, The Old Mill Pottery Café is a must-visit. We will definitely be back!
