I moved here in 1989 in my father's 1965 Chevy C10 pickup. I've seen a lot of old landmark restaurants close their doors over the years. The Nashville Bagel Company, VandyLand, Mack's Country Kitchen, Hap Townes, Houston's, and many, many others. All of which are terribly missed but todays closing is the saddest by far. They no longer have dinner but the new option is lunch from 11am-2pm. It is a cafeteria style buffet so you pay for the number of items you want. Extremely good as always and super filling. I had 3 items and could barely finish but I did. Ms. Polly and the staff are friendly as ever and you can't go wrong eating here. A town tradition and the food is always great. Fun fact the family who owns the Omni Hut use to own a breakfast place called The Wood Shed on Lowry Street that had the best steak biscuits. Sadly it burnt down many years ago!
