Calfkiller Brewing Company Brewery • $

“We're on a trip to Cookeville TN for the week. As usual we like to check out local breweries in the area. Sort of located in the middle of nowhere, weren't even sure that GPS brought us to the right location. We loved this place, it's in the top top five breweries we've visited. Great choice beers, they do rotate. The prices are amazing, $4 pints!“

“They have the perfect food to complement your brew! We visited on a Sunday afternoon and ordered an appetizer sampler with cheese curds, fried pretzel bites, and tator kegs; a bacon cheeseburger with fries; and a chicken salad wrap with broccoli salad. It was all fresh, super flavorful, and delicious, and we were stuffed! I thought the food came out pretty quickly for how busy the place was during trivia and how small their kitchen is!“

“Braved the snow and ice to try this place out and let me tell you it was so worth it! The beer cheese, cheese curds and pretzel was soooo good. My boyfriend got the steak and local beer and loved it and I got the burger with Frank sauce and it was delicious. Highly recommend!“

Happy Trails Brewery & Taproom Brewery • $

“If you're in the area, don't miss this awesome brewery! It is a fun, relaxed hangout with ample indoor seating and a chill patio area with a fire pit. It seems like they have lots of entertainment throughout the week including trivia and live music. We visited on a Sunday afternoon when they were having trivia and a darts tournament. Wise Ass Trivia was great! They had five house brews on tap and an impressive selection of regional craft bottles for a smaller brewery. We really enjoyed the two house brews we ordered: Tropical Storm Hefeweizen and Montgomery Belgian. We also ordered food from Trailhead Grub, located inside the brewery: an appetizer sampler with cheese curds, fried pretzel bites, and tator kegs; a bacon cheeseburger with fries; and a chicken salad wrap with broccoli salad. It was all delicious and we were stuffed. We will definitely be visiting again when we are back in town!“
