“We stopped here while traveling from Orlando to Ohio. Food was amazing! Do yourself a favor and order the fried okra, collard greens and, most importantly, the hush puppies. While my ribblets were fall-off-the-bone, the sides were the stars of the show. My husband really enjoyed his “build a piggy” entree. Best part - the restaurant has an ice cream shop next door. We loved the ice cream nachos and waffle cone with a scoop of cookie dough ice cream. My son enjoyed their version of a blizzard.“

Tsali Notch Vineyard Winery •
162 Harrison Rd, Madisonville - 6.15 miles

“I have traveled the world and sampled many wines, but none compare to the taste and scenery of Tsali Notch. The vineyard is breathtakingly beautiful, especially when in bloom. Whenever I take a road trip in the United States, I make sure to visit Tsali Notch, even if it means going out of my way. I not only stock up on wine for myself but also purchase gifts for friends and family. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, and they have consistently exceeded my expectations. My words cannot adequately describe the magnificence of this place; you must experience it for yourself to truly appreciate its greatness. It is always a pleasure to patronize this establishment, and I sincerely hope it continues to thrive for many years to come.“

“Sons of Smoke has a great local following and appears to be family-run, which I appreciate. Their namesake smoke on the ribs was excellent, with a great char and deep flavor. However the meat itself was quite dry, almost grainy in texture, that their sweet and hot barbecue sauces couldn't save. I enjoyed the Friday special, the pork tenderloin sandwich. It was pounded very thin and breaded well so that it had both a crunch and was chewy. The rest of the food, while cooked well, was bland and lacked flavor overall, including the green beans, onion rings, pulled pork, and baked potato. A little more seasoning and Sons of Smoke could easily be one of the best barbecue joints around.“

“The place used to be a train station. They have redone the place very nice. Sorry, but I didn't take any inside photos. Some people can get upset when you take photos that might include them.I went to lunch with several co-workers and got a lunch entrée. A Southwestern Crunch Bowl and a Dr. Pepper. The entrée was ok and the drink was good. They got busy, and the waitress made such a quick pass that I wasn't able to flag her down for a drink refill. However, I did get her to make me one to go when I paid. Back to the entrée, it was hot but still bit flat. There were roasted red peppers and onions, black beans, white rice, and chucks of white meat chicken in sauce and surrounded by just 6, Dorito size and style, chips. Plain sticky white rice didn't cut it for me. I don't think the chicken was seasoned either. Probably out of a can. The black beans were scarce, but there was plenty of chicken. The size of the meal was good for the price of approximately $10. Add some roasted corn, season the chicken and rice appropriately, add more chips and lighten up on the hot sauce and I think the entrée would be pretty good. ?A couple of my coworkers go there all the time and love the place. One got a Patty Melt and loved it. Another got a wrap and liked it. When I eat there again, I'll try something different and update this review. If you're into beer, they have plenty of different kinds. I'm not a beer drinker, so I can't comment beyond that. If you don't like beer, they have whisky too. My preference for an alcoholic beverage.“

“My and my husband really enjoyed our lunch and will for sure be back. He loved the shrimp cocktail that he got, he especially like that it came in a bowl and I happened to get chili relleno, and I was so thrilled that it came without breading, which I love, it had sauce and cheese and it was absolutely delicious!!!“
