Dickel distillery is such a hidden gem. They are certainly not the product from 20years ago that people “remember.” If you take the tour and are lucky enough to have Bobby as your tour guide, consider yourself blessed. He’s the best. This was my second time in two years to be here and I will certainly come back. Thank you so much for the southern hospitality. We had a great time!
Good time visit. Excellent guide. Interesting tasting. Nice that you provide free postcards and mailing invluded.
We visited Cascade Hollow on a Tuesday, and it turned out to be the perfect day to go. Our tour group only had 6 people, which gave the entire experience a wonderfully intimate and personalized feel.
Our guide was fantastic—friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and he actually grew up just a few miles down the road, adding a great local touch to the history. Because the distillery operations are temporarily paused right now due to the broader industry slowdown, we didn’t get to see live distilling. However, this actually worked in our favor! The guide was able to take us on a much more in-depth, comprehensive walkthrough of the entire operation and facility.
The grounds themselves are absolutely beautiful, quaint, and peaceful—a refreshing contrast to some of the massive, hyper-commercialized distilleries we’ve been to. We wrapped up with a tasting that was both highly informative and a lot of fun. All in all, a very pleasant experience that was well worth the time and money. Highly recommend!
I've been to a lot of really good distilleries over the years and this place was no exception. The gift shop was well laid out and clean. The prices were reasonable. The grounds were very well kept up. The whisky tasting was a fun experience and of course the whisky tasted good. The folks who worked there were very friendly. This place also has a lot of history that I was unaware of. It's definitely worth a visit.
Full disclosure: Dickel recently became my go to drink. Smooth. Friendly welcoming and serving of drinks. Had a fruity drink. Don’t recommend bc you don’t get a taste of the whiskey. I them did an old fashioned but it was premixed. Tasted the whiskey but would’ve liked a fresh one made. Will be back next year though.
Great little place! Larry was super friendly and educational. Been a George Dickel fan for years, but was very informative talking to him and learning some of the details that make it so good. Great gift shop and tasting facility, the building had been a general store in the past and still has the little post office set up where you can mail postcards for free. It was my first trip there, but will not be my last!
Very nice tour, tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions, take the tour and do the tasting!

Beautiful location and interesting history. The tour is fairly brief but interesting. The tasting added more depth to the tour. Jake, our tour guide, was entertaining and very informative! He’s a good bartender too! This is a small distillery that creates some really nice Tennessee whiskey and Bourbon. Their corn whiskey, though not aged, has good flavor and would work well as a mixer. Overall this was a great experience. Thanks Jake!
Jake was an excellent tour guide. We have been here a few times and it is always enjoyable.
Such an awesome experience
