I highly recommend the mixed grill and the beef shawarma tawouk sandwich. They’re also a butcher, so I often pick up their frozen burgers and tenders to make at home perfect for days I don’t feel like cooking. One thing they could improve on is their extra sauce policy; since we come here often and usually order a lot, it would be nice if they were more generous with sauce instead of charging for extras. Other than that, it’s a fantastic spot with amazing food.“

“After seeing Craft Pita featured on the local Houston show, I knew I had to give it a try! I came the very next day and was not disappointed! Everything we tried was wonderful from the Mint Lemonade, Lebanese wine, falafel, brownie, and iced Arabic coffee. Definitely a 5 star experience!“

“Mary’z has been my favorite in Houston for Lebanese food. It is the closest thing I have found to what my Tita made. I went to the Richmond location today and ordered the grapeleaves, cabbage rolls, cucumbers with laban, fried kibbe, and ashta with bananas. The kibbe, as per the menu and in authentic form, is made with pine nuts inside. Well, there were no pine nuts, but instead there were almond slivers. I asked the waitress about it and she told ME to ask the “chief”. I imagine she meant the chef. After some conversation, she asked the chef for me and came back to the table and said it’s always walnuts. Well, that’s wrong because it used to be pine nuts and now it’s almond slivers. I’m not sure where walnuts came into the picture. I decided my question was not going to be answered by this waitress and chef. In my opinion, the only reasons to substitute pine nuts with almonds would be availability (we’re in Houston and they are available within a mile of this location) or they are too high (this is a restaurant, if the ingredients go up, raise the price, don’t scrimp). I frequent this restaurant for authenticity, not because it’s cheap. I probably won’t be back to the Richmond location. It was better before they rebuilt. I prefer the Washington location where I’ve never had any complaint. Please don’t substitute pine nuts with almonds…“
