Cork And Pig Tavern Allen Ridge, Abilene

Really wanted to like this place due to all the great reviews. Food was decent but prices were quite high for everything. More of a high end cocktail spot then a quick bite. Took twenty min to have a server bring us even waters and then maybe saw him one other time.

The deviled eggs were deviled eggs: Good. The meals were better than most available in Abilene. The braised shortrib was particularly tasty and tender, despite being served on glutinous mashed potatoes. The desserts, however, were kinda mid. The begneits were the best of them: they were light and airy. The lemon cheesecake was of a good flavor, but it was far too sweet and fluffy, not nearly dense enough or tangy. There was far too much meringue on the key lime pie, and it was more foamy than marshmallowy. The tres leches was alright--just tres leches--but it would be better served by being served with more fruit. Overall, good for Abilene, but it was not high-tier for any real metropolitan area. Keep up the good work, but keep pushing yourselves and kick it up a notch.

The host was polite. The food is good. I must point out the quality is never the same twice which is not good. The servers are new and unfamiliar with the menu so you can't ask them questions. There was minimal check in with me, so I had to wait to order a drink and wait to order my food even though they are not busy. I felt rushed to get out after I got my Entree because the server brought my cheque out and left. I was planning on ordering dessert, but they didn't bother to ask me if I wanted anything else...
This is my last time coming here though.

Parking: Depending on the time you may or may not find parking. During lunch time there is hardly ever parking.

Our pizza was a one bite express. The one bite tasted good but not worth the money. They clearly tried to compensate w arugula.

Chose this restaurant for lunch today specifically for the spaghetti squash. Placed my order of spaghetti squash and mac and cheese only to be told it would be 20 minutes before the squash was ready. I said no problem, just make that part of the order to go. The manager said that would be fine if it was ready. After we were done 45-60 minutes later our waitress checked and it still wasn't ready. If it wasn't going to be ready that's fine, but don't tell me 20 minutes when you really mean over an hour. And when you open at 11 you should have the food ready when guests order at noon. Our server was fantastic, absolutely no issues there and the mac and cheese was good. Just disappointed since the squash is the best thing on the menu and after being opened for 2 hours it still wasn't ready.

Service yesterday was not good. Two of our family members ordered entrees that clearly stated they included one side of your choice, but the staff said it was NOT included. We also ordered two appetizers, which never arrived. We had to ask about them when our food came. They told us the kitchen never got the order but that's not possible when our server took the entire order all at once. They did finally bring us the appetizers and removed that charge from our bill for the inconvenience. My son found two long hairs on his plate with his burger and chips. The food itself was good, though.

Ordered a burger and fries pretty simple wait 15mins never got it and the place was slow. Watched the servers goofing off and watched them take a burger and fries to their table to eat. Watched them eating the fries. After 15mins I asked what's going on with my food. They claimed a miss communication of the order. They then bring me that burger and fries hoping I wouldn't notice. I told them no thanks and left. Worst service I have ever had at restaurant

Wait over 40 minutes for a party of five (no big deal)
Finally got sat and ordered drinks and appetizers. Have the drinks came, and 20 minutes later had to go to the bar to retrieve the rest of our drinks. One appetizer came, the second did not show up until after entrees came.
Was offered dessert, then when we ordered the Mexican Chocolate cake, server came back and said the manager told him it was last call. The time was 8:46 pm on Sunday. I asked him if we could take it to go, and he said let me check. He came back several minutes later and said his Manager said no we couldn't take the cake to go because it was last call. My guess is whoever owns this place, and pays for that manager to lead their team, would not like the fact they are turning down sales, as the margin on desserts is extremely high. Owner if you are reading this, please do something to fix the service. I asked to speak to the manager (who was a lady, but she never came) and our server said she was no where to be found!? Funny because he found her to say we could not buy dessert to take to go!? As far as food goes, I would give it a 7 out of 10, everything was acceptable. Our check was $171, and I tipped our server over $34, because I'm not a jerk and I know servers work had and can make mistakes. It was the Lady Manager and the lack of accountability that ruined our experience.
Stay away from this place, it's not worth the money and obviously they are doing so well they can turn down to-go dessert sales, and give good paying customers a bad experience and not even have the decency to explain why.

We often walk our dogs at Allen Ridge and stop for lunch at Cork & Pig. We sit in the outdoor patio and enjoy the scenery while also enjoying our favorite pizza. Nicole is our requested server and she is the best. We also enjoy dinner there and the food is wonderful, we have never been disappointed. The wait staff are great and accommodating. We are retired so enjoy eating out often, Cork & Pig is at the top of our list.

Food was so Amazing and our waiter Mason, did such an awesome job we never needed anything he was always running and really seems to care about the customers. We will be back.
