Fantastic meal. One of the best I've had. The server, Leif, took great care of us!

This was absolutely the best Italian food I’ve had since I was a kid in Des Moines (little Italy area!) And, believe me, I’ve searched for that taste for 50 years! Bravissimo! I loved that the music selection was all songs I knew from my parents’ time! Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, etc. Dinner and desserts for two was $50.84. We will be back!
Food was very good, but service was horrible. Met my grand daughter and friend. When I arrived they had a table and had drinks and I arrived and ordered only water. Julie came to take our order. Business like but not friendly. Which is okay with me if you do a good job of service-- but she did not, she never refilled any of our drinks (tea and water). Grand daughter ordered chicken parmesan with pink sauce and her friend ordered the Stromboli --Very big portion. I had the veal parmesan. We were brought bread and olive oil and balsamic. Bread was just okay. Main dishes came and food was excellent. Problem was Julie. She did not come back after food was served. I had to ask another waiter for refill of water. When Julie did return it was only to drop the ticket, but no comment or asking if we wanted dessert. My grand daughter wanted to lemon cake. Her friend had to go ask someone for dessert order. Someone else brought that. Julie did drop the ticket once again for dessert. On main bill I gave a tip of 20% but was not worth that.
The food is the best Italian cuisine in town! Plus the rolls are amazing! Friendly and fast service makes this my favorite local restaurant in Abilene!
Food was never delivered, employees took no responsibility
I'd been looking for a Stromboli that I remember from years ago .
I saw that Luigis had one.
I arrived at about 530 pm, and as you'll see, there was little business.
I asked the waiter about the Stromboli. His answer prompted me to order one.
As I've said before, I'm not a "Foodie ."
The rolls were OK, but I didn't "get" the bowl of olive oil with spices.
My order arrived in a timely fashion.
As you can see,the Stromboli looks very good and looks did not disappoint!!!
The crust was baked to perfection. The ingredients were well cooked. The side of marinara was quite tasty.
If I weren't hungry, this meal would have served two.
I guess my my only complaint would be the price. With a tip, it was just over $20.
All in all, it was a good experience and I'll be back!
I don't know if you'll read and see !
I came back for the same meal after 3 weeks.
I'm sad to say I was disappointed and confused.
If you will look at the pictures, you'll see why.
It had to have been a different cook.
It was still tasty but the distribution of "stuffings" is obvious.
The first was not scorched.
Notice the difference in "scraps".
Now confusion.
The first bill was nearly $21 with tip.
I don't think I added anything but I didn't keep the receipt.
The second, with a decent tip, was $3.29 less!
There's probably an explanation.

Chicken Rollatini. I have to say this was some of the best pasta I have had in a LONG LONG time. DEFINITELY will have it again next time I'm in town.

Update:
Contacted the manager as I was asked to do and she never replied back to me after she said she would look into it and when I call the manager is never there. It has been a month now
Came here for dinner and it started good until I got my dinner. I barely ate and and when I told the server I didn't like it I was ignored and charged full price. Not even offered to change it for something else, will never comeback here.

We visited on a Sunday evening (around 5:30) and had a party of 2. We ordered no appetizers and only ordered entrees. I wanted to give 5 starts here, but I just couldn’t and I’ll try to be as gracious as possible. The food wasn’t bad; in actuality I’d probably visit here again just to eat because the bread was delicious and reminded me of Carino’s with their oil dip, something you don’t find everywhere. The amount of chicken I also received as an add on to my alfredo was sufficient. Most places give you a couple strips and call it good. Overall the food itself was pretty good. My main issue came when we were nearly done/finished. Our server basically abandoned us. I realize business picked up a little, so I didn’t mind waiting a few minutes to be checked on. But over 20 minutes with no communication? We were just waiting on our check. At that point we needed refills but no luck. Another table near us with a party of 2 also seemed to receive this same treatment. We were nearly at the point of getting up, walking to the front, and opening the door to set off the doorbell chime to get someone’s attention but we didn’t have to. I will say for her part, she did give us a slight discount for the wait and apologized. She also attempted to give us a free serving of dessert but neither of us wanted it/could eat it so we declined .However, please let this be a learning experience: communicate with your guests. I don’t think I would’ve been peeved if she had just acknowledged us and let us know she was busy. She waited on one other larger table and I guess they were more important. I couldn’t see if she waited on others. Just be prepared if you get a particular server you’ll have to wait. Not a great first experience for these visitors.

Restaurantji Recommends
Extremely rude employees.
Employees are not even capable of taking a to go order like a normal human being. Had to listen to a full minute of maniacal laughter seemingly unprompted. It was like getting your order taken by the Joker. Recommend going to the Little Italy on Ambler instead because they don’t sick mentally ill people on you. Garbage business.
Just traveling through town. Stopped for dinner. We had great service. Food was a 5 out of 10, just didn't seem freshly prepared. The entrance and restaurant could use a good deep cleaning.

My wife and I love this place, but our last visit was subpar: ordered the appetizer sampler, it wasn't worth it, the calamari was great but there were 5 rings; the toasted ravioli tasted like any generic frozen brand you'd get at the supermarket; fried mozzarella was adequate, nothing special overall not worth the $14 price tag.
I had the stromboli, it was decent, I'd get it again; my wife had the baked ravioli with pink sauce, it tasted off and looked like they tried to hide mediocre with cheese; MIL had the tortellini with Alfredo and chicken which was probably the highlight of the day.
I'm not writing this place off yet because I know they can do better, but I can understand why it was emptier than usual.

Good service good food have made several trips back to abilene just to eat here.
Did your chef learn how to cook chicken parm and put it on top of Alfredo noodles?
I've had that dish several times your last cook didn't know how to make it without marina sauce ?
You cook the chicken parm then put it on Alfredo noodles am I wrong? It's better that way
Maybe I'll get an answer if not maybe if I downgrade my review ?
And you need to upgrade you bread to butter and herbs the oil you serve has no flavor. The bread is awesome ?
There's alot of changes yall need to go back too. I'm gonna take back some stars yall lacking
