I am so sad to see y'all closing. I used to come here as a child with my grandparents who are locals. I used to visit with my family from Nashville, Tennessee every summer. That smell of the bakery was always so distinct. I used to always wish I could just bottle or up and take it home with me. I always loved getting the thumbprint cookies. The chocolate was my favorite! I have never found another cookie that taste anywhere near how good yours was. I am so sad to see you go! Best of luck in your new adventures

Best place in town with prices that shocked me, in a good way. They have a crazy assortment of items, and also do custom orders. Hands down the best bakery I’ve ever been to. We’re hooked on them!

I have heard many good things about McKay’s and to put it simply it was definitely underwhelming. All the pastries my husband and I tried were stale, but I will say the eclairs were amazing. The customer service was the worst part though, there was an older woman working the front who had an attitude and made us feel rushed when there was no one else waiting. Pie was also good but the cookies and lemon bars I would not recommend. Don’t recommend getting lunch there either, sandwiches were ok not great. Hopefully the cakes are good but I will not be going back to try

My mom discovered this bakery when she moved to Abilene back in 2020. She always raves about it. So whenever I come up to visit her, this is an imperative stop before I leave! Their cookies are some of the best I’ve ever had! So soft, tasty and fresh! Their lunches are good too and at a great price. They always have such a wide and available selection too. Thank you McKays!!!

The pastries pies and cakes taste really good. The staff is always so helpful when you come in. If you haven't tried McKay's bakery in Abilene then you should take the time to check them out.

Next time your sweet tooth starts in you should go to McKays Bakery. Or go for lunch and get sweets to go. Great service all of them are so sweet. There is one that stands out and that is Kayla she always has the answers and has great suggestions. I can't go downtown without stopping in.

This place is Amazing! I've been in Abilene 6 months and I happen to come across this place by pier accident going down the wrong road. Not many places have Neman Marcus Cookies, and they do! Their Petit 4s are awesome.

Ordered a cake for our daughter's baby shower that was held on 11/12Customer service was great unfortunately the 2 tier cake, red velvet on bottom, vanilla on top, was EXTREMELY dry. While cutting the cake it was literally crumbling away. We ordered specifically red velvet since its typically a super moist cake. Also top was supposed be vanilla yet had a ton of Almond extract in. Only half the cake was served and was very disappointed. They did have it ready on time and the simple crumb coating was really pretty with the theme of her shower.

Let me say that I have been eyeing this business for a while. Needless to say, I had time and went to support their business. I was excited as I was walking in, admiring their products. Had a hard time making a decision bc there was some cute pastries. It was my first time. The 2 ladies came off as rude and felt rushed even though NO ONE was in a line. The first lady had this annoyed attitude and facial expressions when I was browsing for more pastries as if I was taking much of her time. I received a business call which I stepped away from so i can end the call politely. When I came back to counter, I asked if it was lemon cake. The 2nd lady responded rudely and decided not to get anything else and buy what had already been put in a box. I gave 2 stars just bc the pastries were decent but total experience was terrible and will not be coming back or recommending anyone here.
