“We often walk our dogs at Allen Ridge and stop for lunch at Cork & Pig. We sit in the outdoor patio and enjoy the scenery while also enjoying our favorite pizza. Nicole is our requested server and she is the best. We also enjoy dinner there and the food is wonderful, we have never been disappointed. The wait staff are great and accommodating. We are retired so enjoy eating out often, Cork & Pig is at the top of our list.“

“OK I don’t rave about places often, but Winchester Pub and Grill is on point! Yes, it’s a pub / grill and the food is humble, a tiny bit pricey, but man is it worth it! We went in for lunch and had the smoked bacon wrapped peppers, two drinks, I had the shaved ribeye with onion rings (SOOOOO many onion rings!), my husband had the 12-piece wings (way bigger than Wingstop wings) with sweet potato waffle fries. The bill was around $55 for all of it. I have never had a "ribeye" sandwich before that was really ribeye, but this was! so tender and juicy and not chewy or grizzly at all! I could only eat half of it; it was so big! We both brought enough food home for dinner too! This thing was over 8 inches long. We are from Buffalo NY and my husband said the "buffalo wings" were spot on. The smoked bacon wrapped peppers? OMG sooooooo good! THICK slices of bacon, you could taste the smoke and even with the generous sized pepper the bacon covered the whole thing. I scarfed them down so fast I got the picture after I had already eaten a few lol. The only tiny issue I had was the onion rings and waffle fries were cooked just a tad browner than I like them but it was no real biggie. All in all, great food, prices were good for the value they give, and the owner is a wonderful lady who dotes on you the whole time you are there! GO!!!“

“Nice bar & atmosphere in the downtown south district of Abilene offering a variety beverages, food truck services, and fun open mic nights with a great live local band, Basic Truth every 4th Sunday, each month. Great prices on the drinks. Customer friendly bartenders & staff. It’s such a good time. The energy is fun, warm, and welcoming to all who patronize. It’s a diverse & varied environment. I highly recommend supporting the open mic nights. You don’t have to be a pro or seasoned singer. It’s kind of like karaoke with a live band plus the band performs songs in between. They take the time out to learn the music to the song you want to perform. Basic Truth is a soulful, artistically talented, group of local musicians with a power house lead lady singer. They are very open and welcoming to all different types of musical artistic expressions. If you haven’t checked open mic nights out yet, you’re truly missing out. “This place is a great spot for drinks and dancing. They serve really good drinks and have pool tables and a patio area. The only downside is that they play the same playlist all the time. But overall, it's a nice place to hang out and have fun.
