This place used to be the best part of Aledo! The ice was powdery soft and I had never had anything as delicious! Unfortunately this year under new ownership the ice has be so chunky and it just isn’t the same. We came almost every day last year but it just isn’t worth it now.
Took forever, the guy in there didn’t know what he was doing and put his bare hands in the snowcone.

Hours inaccurate, here at 7:58 says it closes at 9. Closed
Best snowcones in Aledo! I love shaved ice and Lonestar sno is amazing. We loved the cry baby flavor and look forward to trying more during the summer. They had clear toddler friendly flavors too! I highly recommend!
Pink chiffon with sweet cream. You’re welcome
Perfect treat in the heat. Every flavor I’ve tried has been yummy! Add the cream (unless you’re lactose intolerant) it makes all the difference!
Lonestar Sno, basically an Aledo institution that’s been slinging sno for 19 years, has been a family tradition of ours for the entire time we’ve lived here! Located on FM 1187, just before the downtown circle and across the street from Vandagriff Elementary in a gas station parking lot, is the BEST snow cone stand in the entire world! Nothing like the snow cone stands of the 1980’s with the compacted crunchy ice balls… Lone star Sno is serving up shaved ice that’s more like a soft ice cloud! It dissolves on your tongue like cotton candy and is NEXT LEVEL with the addition of a $1.00 scoop of Bluebell Ice Cream at the bottom - aka “stuffed!” Bring cash because they don’t accept credit cards and you don’t want to miss it!
The most moving part of the whole experience, aside from that first bite of flavored snow, is the beautiful Bible verse above the window of Psalm 34:8 - small town, not PC, country living at its finest! Cones are available in large, medium, small, kids and even kids flat for littles who can’t manage the towering tops. There’s something for everyone: clear color free syrups, sugar free, sour flavors, sour spray, sprinkles, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, stuffed Bluebell ice cream, whipped cream, Tajin and evaporated milk “cream.”
Pros: The BEST flavors in the state of Texas! Personally, I’m a Barbie for life - Wedding Cake and Cotton Candy mixed! Add Ice Cream and Toasted Coconut and you’ll never look backwards! My husband loves Smurfs in a blender - Blueberry and Rasberry. My kid loves the Silver Fox (Marshmallow flavor) and Toasted Coconut combo. Don’t forget to ask for a Sno card and get a stamp for every snow cone purchase. Just pull out your reward card when you pay and you’ll soon be on your way to a free snow cone, which is every 4 stops for my small family of 3! It has our HIGHEST recommendation and deserves 10 stars!
Cons: The lines can get really long, but that’s just proof that their serving up killer cones! There’s not a single thing to complain about.
I had stars and stripes. Yum! Barbie, SpongeBob, and Volcano were loved by my kiddos.
