Portillo's Allen is a welcoming restaurant with a large and inviting building and a pleasant atmosphere. The service is generally good, with staff willing to answer questions. The menu offers a variety of dishes, including a very good Italian beef sandwich, Chicago Style hot dogs, and fries which are the best fries ever had, cooked and seasoned well. The Chicago dogs are noted as absolutely delicious. While the prices are reasonable, not every dish is a hit - some may find the bread soggy. The décor features a cool, rustic feel, and while the restaurant could be cleaner, the good food keeps customers returning. A big plus is the covered patio where you can take your dog.
