Staying in Alpine overnight on Sunday, things are limited. Staff tried to be attentive; w were greeted immediately by the owner and had our drink order taken within 5 minutes. It felt like the owner and staff must know they are getting pounded in reviews for being slow and inattentive. Even so, we had to ask every time for water refills and had to go to the bar to ask for another beer. Food took almost an hour to come out. Chicken sandwich and Fried Chicken Plate were pretty good. For a place wanting ty be a sports bar, there weren't a lot of TVs going. The restaurant/grill side has no screens at all. The bar area had 3 screens, but one sat with nothing on except "This Programming is Over" screen (it was Selection Sunday for NCAA Men BB). There is a third room with more TVs but was loud and austere. It's what you have in Alpine, but hard to recommend as a real "Sports Bar." Overall, ...meh. I would watch the game at home if I had the choice.

It was amazing food and service. Super busy spring break but we got seated and served right away. The owner Chris had just changed the queso and it was delicious. Definitely worth stopping by. Drinks are great too! Barry

Change your name. Totally inappropriate to come into a small town and take another businesses name.

Went during spring break and had the worst service and drinks. Never was able to order because they would not serve me and my wife. Sat for 20 minutes as the female bartender served all the male customers that approached her. She ignored us and kept telling us to wait. When we were able to order a drink I watched her make them and she definitely didn’t give us the same service as her male customers. I asked for a tequila that was not top shelf by any means and she poured one shot and when questioned it was denied. My wife’s drink always a double cranberry vodka which seems almost impossible to mess up. Yet she found a way. She never measured and charged almost 20 dollars for the drink. My margarita was 18. These prices were ridiculous and when I spoke to the manager, he seemed really bothered. He said he would take it off the bill but all he did was come and take the drink and throw it in the sink. When we asked for the bill it was never removed. A lot of effort to physically take the drink and not fix the issue. The restaurant was dirty and the bathroom situation was highly inadequate for that many patrons. Customer service here is trash and I felt really disrespected by the mannerisms of employees and owners.

The service was attentive. I had fish tacos, which were good. Inside was smoky from cooking, like perhaps the ventilation wasn't working properly. Overall, I would eat here again.

Was starving on a Saturday afternoon and had limited options in Alpine. While walking down the street we detected the aroma of sizzling ground beef and headed in... The burgers were really good, and the fries were above average. The chips were nothing special, and the salsa, guacamole, and queso were pretty standard. I have to say the service was really slow. Other reviewers' complaints about the wait times are not exaggerations. We waited at least 40 minutes for our food, and even though there were plenty of staff, they rarely checked in on us. This is definitely more of a dive bar that sells food, rather than a restaurant that serves booze. I wouldn't steer you away from here, just know what you are in for...

Great food, service, & personal attention from the Manager! The classic burger on a brioche bun & crispy fries are always a hit, or get on your guest's good side by sharing an order of their massive nachos. Lunch is always a treat as well as meeting friends for supper while enjoying live music on nights when it's offered. Do yourself a favor & join their new MVP Club the next time you're there!

This place has a sign out front for renovation and thus is not open.

Spouse and I were going out with another couple on a Sunday night in Alpine - not much open. ? One side of Amigo is the sports bar; the other side is the restaurant - we sat on the restaurant side (although the drum set conjured up thoughts of "Rawhide" in The Blues Brothers) ? We then waited for what seemed like eternity and a server finally came by and suggested nachos and dip. We said sure. Then we waited for eternity again and another server came by - we asked about our nachos and our food and he said that there was only one cook. Meanwhile, although seated after us, the table next to us, with several kids, got their drinks and nachos before we did. That table eventually walked out because their orders were never taken. We waited out the cook. Margaritas, on the rocks, were good. Nachos with dip was good - dip included queso (I thought it was OK compared to some of the other reviews), guacamole ( ? ), and salsa. Salsa had a bit of heat. Two of us had beef ? plate, one had a ? taco plate, one had the green Chile burger. Beef tacos had some heat. The food was generally good. Server came around once to check to see if anyone wanted water or anything else to drink. Coming from out of town, I can't compare it to Gringos.

Long wait for food but we came in right as it opened. Can't ever go wrong with a cheeseburger. Honestly though the fries were so good and salty. Wings were not necessarily bad it flavor but not super crispy. Kids Mac n cheese was a very tiny bowl for $6 bucks. This was one of the only places open on a Sunday. Not a bad stop for a drink and some nosh. Prices were average.

Alpine is a small town. Like any small town there’s not a lot open the beginning of the week. I tried this place because it was open and went back later in the week because it was so good. Decent (like really decent) food and cocktails in a dive bar vibe but full of friendly locals and charm that bring people back to Alpine over and over again. I went early for dinner both nights for dinner and noticed the dining room was full when I left. It’s for a reason. It’s worth a visit or two.
