Stopped at this location after a morning fun run. First thing we asked for was a combo with Blizzard upgrade. We were told, with attitude, that that's not allowed. We asked for a manager, to confirm that this was no longer allowed, even though the many times we had been here, it HAD been allowed. The cashier rolled her eyes and heaved a sigh, like she was personally affronted. The manager confirmed the same. Apparently this franchise likes money more than standards across a company. Left and went to the Midlothian location where we always are treated respectfully and ALWAYS get the upgrade with no guff.
I recently visited Dairy Queen in Alvarado, and I was incredibly impressed by the entire experience. The chicken finger basket was cooked to perfection – the chicken and fries were delicious, and the gravy was excellent.
The lobby was immaculate and spotless; it's clear this location is exceptionally well-maintained and has a sophisticated, welcoming look. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with utmost kindness and respect. The service was incredibly fast, taking maybe only two minutes, yet without compromising on quality. You can truly feel the dedication of the management and staff here.
Beyond the excellent food and service, I deeply appreciate that this Dairy Queen provides a free kids meal with the purchase of a combo on Mondays. This is a special that is done in Johnson county (Cleburne, Alvarado,Joshuaand etc) and is subject to change my location and availability in the future. This policy truly reflects a people-first and child-friendly attitude, demonstrating a genuine commitment to the community.
Thank you, Dairy Queen, for hiring such great staff and management, and for embodying such a strong, community-focused ethos. This is truly a place that cares.
