We found this restaurant in Amarillo TX on our way out east, loved it so much we stopped in on our way back home. The salsa was spicy and their hotter one was smoking, $5 margarita's cooled us down. Wishing it wasn't a 10 hour drive so we could eat there more often.
El Charro's food was absolutely delicious and home cooked authentic! I imagine if I looked in the kitchen, someone's abuela was cooking up a storm. The portions were huge. The staff treated us so well. We will definitely return here in our next trip through Amarillo. 10/10 recommend.
The food was great! We ordered the carne asada, costillas en salsa roja, and caldo. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful, and the salsa tasted freshly made. The beer was cold, and the service was good. We came around lunchtime, so it was busy, and we had to wait a bit, but overall, a pretty good experience!
