Always order seafood enchiladas but today they were dried out and I was dissatisfied. How can they be great one time and next time not worth eating?

House margarita with don julio was great! Not too sweet. Got the street tacos with carnitas. Bomb! My son got the hangover. It was just as described. Will be back while in Amarillo.

The food and service were both great, and though this was our first time here, it won't be our last.

Referred by our hotel clerk at Baymont Wyndham (East I40) as her favorite place to eat.Always willing to try new Mexican restaurants, we lucked out, and was wildly surprised at how good the food was. We are Colorado, Green Chili lovers, with an infinity for good, homemade, Mexican food.It was easy to get to, a friendly hostess/waitress greeted us and after seating us showed she also knew the menu, and overtime, had tried everything on it. She was attentive, personable and able to help negotiate getting us exactly what we wanted, even though it was not exactly on the menu. We were brought the regular chips & salsa. The chips were on the + side, but the salsa wasn't, just pureed tomatoes plus? However, the food came out quickly and was hot, fresh & yummy. The kicker is how inexpensive it was overall.Kudos, to Joe Taco's management on having Welcoming staff people who know how to make your business great, give excellent service to their customers, and a kitchen staff that knows what they are doing with their creations. The interior was clean, but plain, not very inviting at all, and the atmosphere inside was quiet, the only thing that lightened it up was our waitress and it's lively lit star lights. But, for us, just traveling through & staying over only the one night, it was no big deal, especially considering they hit it out of the park on the top 3 priorities of 1) good food, 2) good service and 3) good price. Although the atmosphere was blah, it was clean which is a high priority as well. Only one real negative, the silverware was the cheapest I've ever seen and because of the poor quality very uncomfortable to use.Maybe going cheap on the utensils and interior design is how they keep their costs low and yet prepare good quality dishes.

Great Tex/Mex food. Waiter was super nice and food was fast and delicious. Atmosphere was a little busy but it is right by the hospital district at lunch hour so it's understandable.

Stuffed Avocado is the best I've ever had! The salsa is good and maybe someday they will bring back the green tomatillo salsa

Came in late after driving in from out of town and was able to get a table quickly and was served complimentary chips and salsa. I devoured the salsa myself, and they were kind enough to bring more when I ordered my meal. I knock off a star because the food isn't like typical Mexican or New Mexican taste. As a native New Mexican, I was excited to see staffed sopapillas on the menu and had to try it. I had the David's special with both skinny meats, the beef and chicken. Neither one of them was spicy, but they both had good flavor with the peppers and onion more like a fajita flavor. I had it with beans and "papas" come to my surprise the papa's was mashed potatoes. This was very odd to me, but I didn't hate it. It had a good flavor but a bit unexpected and weird to have with my meal. Overall, the food was good but not typical Mex or New Mex more of a TexMex fusion, in my opinion. I would come again to try other menu items and given the good service and prices. I also had enough leftover for the next day to have breakfast, which is always a plus and nice to enjoy for another meal.

The food was not Mexican style. Shall I say something you can make at home a lot of flavors and taste were definitely missing. It did not taste like Mexican food at all. I was more like a another Taco Bell and Taco Bell may have been a little bit better sad to say.
