Staff and overall atmosphere was welcoming.
I got the 2 meat plate with brisket and ribs. Ribs were pretty good. Brisket was a little too fatty for my liking and could have used a little more flavor but overall it was solid.
The macaroni and cheese surprised me. It was seasoned well and had nice texture. Probably my favorite item.

M'Jays House of Smoke in Arlington is a restaurant that does not disappoint, serving delicious, flavorful, and fresh barbecue that hits the spot. The food is excellent and divine, with generous portions like granny’s house. Specific meals include brisket, ribs, a smoked brisket Philly, a brisket taco, a 2 meat plate, the 3 headed monster, and the loaded cornbread—which is a giant pile of brisket, beans, sauce, cheese and onions on top of soft cornbread. Sides feature crispy and hot okra, collard greens, beans, fries, fried Mac and cheese, and Mac and cheese, often served with a slice of white bread on a platter.
The service is friendly, welcoming, and top-notch, with great staff who treat customers like family and handle requests with patience, kindness, and professionalism. The atmosphere feels right from the moment you walk in, with immaculate vibes where you can watch the game and listen to a good mix of retro tunes. It is a highly recommended spot for great food and even better service, worth the price and then some, making it a definite new favorite.
