What do you do when you have a hankering for ice cream in Austin? You go to Amy's and make a creation. I went with a friend recently close to closing time, on a Sunday night and the line was still pretty lengthy. I can't imagine what it's like on a warm/hot Friday or Saturday night. Anyhoo, the line moved pretty quickly and the staff at the windows were fun and engaging. They made suggestions and helped narrow down flavors and toppings. It's like a smaller Cold Stone but with some different toppings and flavors. I made a cup with pecan pralines, Biscoff cookie crumbles and graham crackers in Sweet Cream ice cream. A smidge pricy but decadently delicious. I couldn't make a habit of visiting because I'd go overboard but it was definitely worth a random visit for a treat.

Amy's is the best sweet treat in soco. I tried the cookies and cream with the cookie dough. This dessert tasted like paradise. I like that this ice cream basically comes with toppings. And those toppings are massive. The ice cream is thick and creamy, just as every ice cream should be. Check it out!!!

The town and state I come from boasts some of the finest ice cream in the land, so I had to put Austin's Amy's to the test during my trip - and she came through with flying colors! I tried the Vietnamese coffee flavor and it knocked my socks off - fine ground espresso bits gave a bite to the toffee sweetness. I could have eaten a whole pint! My husband likewise enjoyed the Irish coffee. It's well worth a stop!

Inferior in every way to our local Guadalupe location. This was our first time trying the South Congress spot after having dinner at Lucky Robot. First of all, the cordons are comical looking: is this a line for getting into a concert or getting some ice cream? Dogs on the line cannot be avoided and it's disgusting have to share space with them in a food venue. One of us got some kind of yellow cake flavor that tasted delicious but the whole thing was half melted as it came out of the window. Ice cream soup no thank you! Our daughter was happy with her Belgian and dark chocolate scoops on a cone, but hers was also dripping down the sides and she was racing to lick everything and it got everywhere and just NO. The cookies-n-cream one of us got in a cup, we will say, was the proper temperature. The young ladies working inside were very sweet, but we also couldn't help noticing they were on their phones while working. Like, we saw one take an order, then pull out her phone to do some scrolling, and THEN go scoop the ice cream. This phone-obsessed generation is frightening to watch! Anyway, three stars, and no need to come back here hopefully.

We stopped by Amy's Ice Cream during a recent trip through Austin's South Congress neighborhood and the options were plentiful. Apparently, there are over 350 flavors in rotation at Amy's Ice Creams. They offer classic flavors and interesting mashups such as goat cheese cherry and Sriracha honey. I ordered their mint chip ice cream and was handed another mint-like option from the associate. I was asked to "try this flavor instead." I did and decided to stick with it. Good ice cream. I'd return to try the mint chocolate chip. .

Amy's is one of the better finds I've enjoyed since moving to Austin. The flagship store here on South Congress is more functional than beautiful but they do crank out the frozen confections here for the huge crowds that show up on the weekends. Hard to beat the creaminess of their ice cream whether you're just having a cone or one of the many drinks they offer. Super friendly service. Highly recommended.

Nice ice cream stand. The strawberry was our favorite out of the flavors we tried. The big red flavor was also fun and interesting. The Oreo tasted like it either didn't have genuine Oreo cookies or the base ice cream flavor just threw it off. The chocolate Irish cream was strong on the chocolate flavor but good. The ice cream was creamy and refreshing. The location is very convenient if you're going down south congress. The decor was fun, and the line moved quickly with good service.

On the Busy Congress St, amazing location as there is plenty of paid street parking. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The ice-cream is surely premium. The flavors are just awesome, especially Rum Rasin ???The waffel cones are super crunchy and tasty. One of best I tried so far in Austin. I will return for different flavors..

They wouldn't break a 100 when I was spending $60 on 4 shakes and a T-shirt period they told me to go next door and get that company to break it because it was against their policy they could use their pin on a 20 in a 50 but not on a 100 Very

Amy’s is always good, but the service I just got from Amalie (I hope I spelled that right) and James was phenomenal. What a marvelous customer service team! They work quickly to get you your ice cream but they also obviously enjoy their jobs. I had such a good time chatting with them about ice cream and random other things during our transaction. I really was impressed with the kindness and capabilities of these two people! If you go to this Amy’s, say hello to the distinguished gentleman, Sir Stabbington.

Hire ppl to work - only one employee on a busy night busy street. You can’t attract workers? Raise the wages. Amy’s was cool back in 2000s, now it’s just trash.

This is the second time my wife and I have visited Amy's Ice Creams. During our first visit, the gentleman at the register was great and informative, and the ice cream was delicious. During our visit today, the gentleman that mixed our ice cream did not wear gloves while he was making it, and when we received our order (two smalls), the cups were half full. I even mentioned they seemed rather light, and they said nothing and walked away. The ice cream is delicious, but I know we got cheated out of our money today. We may not come back.
