Got a tiny cake that was supposed to feed 4 people and it was super small & not cold & the ice cream to whipped cream ratio was off. Tasted okay but not worth $20

RIP Amy. :( I grew up coming here, and was excited to bring my own child and continue the tradition. We ordered a tiny scoop in a cup with one mix-in. …over $7 after tax (with 15% tip though) and they didn’t even mix in the mix-in! Why go out of your way to call it a mix-in? Just call it a topping! I wouldn’t be so annoyed by such a minor thing if it had tasted good. The ice cream was so gummy that when you stuck your spoon in and tried to scoop it, the spoonful wouldn’t separate. It just stretched into a long string before being pulled off of the spoon. Not even my sweets-loving 2 year old would eat it, but at least the playground was a huge hit!

I get that times are tough for everyone, I can handle a drop in quality or an increase in price. Both at the same time is shameful. Growing up in Austin you get used to all of your local places expanding and becoming terrible, but this one hurts.

Sweet cream has to be the creamiest ice cream I’ve had

Probably the worst Amy’s I’ve been to. Ice cream is great as always, so two stars for that, but customer service was horrible. Water was completely empty. I waited until there was no one in line to ask the three employees behind the desk if we could get water. I was responded to with a shrug and “if you want to bring a cup over I can get you some from the sink.” Yeah, no thanks. Considering three small cups cost $20, you’d think they would have some water for guests besides out of the tap. Don’t put out a water dispenser if you are just going to keep it empty hours before closing. Employees continued to just stand around the entire time keeping the container empty even after we told them. Gross and definitely won’t be back 🤢

Amy's is still the best gooey parlor style ice cream in Austin

Stopped by Amy’s Ice Cream today and had a fantastic experience. The place was winding down when I arrived, which worked out perfectly l,no crowds, no wait, just chill vibes and great service.

The highlight? The guy behind the counter who made our ice cream. He was excellent friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what he does. Watching him work was like watching a mini performance: smooth scoops, fun energy, and a genuine smile that made the whole visit feel personal.

The ice cream itself? Classic Amy’s rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. Whether you’re a regular or just passing through, this spot delivers on quality and charm.

Highly recommend stopping by, especially if you catch it during a quiet moment. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why local gems matter.

Every now and again, I stop at Amy's for a treat; I have never been disappointed! Today, I had a scoop of Coconut Cream Pie, sweet cream, and Belgium chocolate on a waffle cone!! Something to be said when ice cream is chewable, don't ya think?!
Still satisfied hours later!!

The Amy's location on Manor Rd left me with no taste in my mouth. There were two clerks, one young male one female. The young male was assisting with in person orders while the female made something that she simply set aside. Instead of helping next customer in line, myself and my partner, she proceeds to assist the young clerks with making one of his three total orders. The young male noticed that she wasn't attempting to assist us she he let her take over his order then he proceeded to greet and assist, only for us to find out that Amy's has general menus for all locations even if the menu item in question is not sold at that location.
I left without purchasing. Having a menus with items you cannot actually purchase coupled with the females attitude made for a very poor experience, that I will not be repeating.
