Wow, what can I say? This Amy's location (13265 N. 183) on the evening (3/10/24) we were there smelled awful. Seriously, we walked in from the Phil's Ice House next door to celebrate a special birthday, the odor was putrid. We all looked around expecting to find vomit on the floor someplace close by. We thought the smell might be coming from the nearby trashcan, and took shallow breathes as we waited in line. As the line moved closer to the ordering area, we did not seem to notice the smell as much. We thought, the smell had to be in the back of the store. So, we stayed through waiting in line behind about 15 others and placing our orders for 6 individuals. None of us could believe the associates could stand working in that smell for hours on end. We chose to sit outside to eat outside. The ice cream was delicious, just as Amy's always is. Sadly, I stepped back in to get a lid for my ice cream, as I wanted to take the remainder to go. As I stood at the counter, trying to get someone's attention, I could not take the terrible smell. I'm guessing we just got accustomed to it while we were in line earlier. It was gross. I just grabbed a clear plastic to-go tray off the counter and rushed out of there. This was pretty bad. I doubt I'll ever try this location again.

We saw an Amy's at the airport, and when we mentioned it to our server last night, she encouraged us to give it a try. She said it's like Cold Stone; she was right, but Amy's is better quality ice cream. Try the dark chocolate with Andes mints mixed in. Woah!

Love Amy’s! always will. but this location is steady slacking on customer service recently. The arboretum location is always a good experience though!

We went in to get a cup of ice cream and a shake. The smell inside the store was pretty unappetizing - kind of like rotten milk. My husband’s shake had too much milk in it and was basically chocolate milk. A bit disappointing because we used to love Amy’s.

Amy's is a local Austin based ice-cream shop with quite a few branches around the city including this place on US 183 next to the I Fly indoor skydiving centre. They have a fair sized indoor seating area, a few tables outside and are open from 11am to 10pm daily. You'll find the usual range of classic ice-cream flavours along with their rather interesting range of signature and specialty flavours which you can purchase in various size cup or cones. Larger pint size orders, cakes and other treats can be purchased in advance and online for pick-up as well. During my visit, I tried their standard Belgian chocolate and speciality Maple Ginger, both of which had nice, soft texture and pretty good flavour. Two scoops were served in a cup and price seemed fair for serving size. This was a good ice-cream, one that made me interested in visiting other branches in order to try other of their flavours. Visit their website to find other branches around Austin if seeking one that might be closer to your home or hotel.
Incompetence is high here. Every time we try this place out they can't seem to get a simple order correct.
