This place might be a great place to get drunk and play volley ball, but the food is less than middle of the road in my opinion. I rarely feel the need to add salt at places, but here I did. Staff is great and atmosphere is neat for a beachy vibe in DT Austin, but I think I’d have to be drunk to enjoy the food. Oh, it’s a plus that you can bring your dog both inside & out but keep them out of the sand.

This place is like heaven!Kind of a combo of a Manhattan Beach bar, Cheers, and a dive bar / sports bar.A little bit of an underground spot but it's definitely a place you need to swing into if you want to get the host and vibe and culture.High level sand volleyball has been played here for years and the city has grown around it. Kind of a hidden gym tucked away behind sky rise apartments and office buildings now.The services impeccable they have cold beer on grass and kind of an upgraded bar menu that has a quite a few unique things as well as specialty burgers.If it's a beautiful spring day you need to be here!

Great place, especially on Taco Tuesday. Hockey on TV, kid-friendly, vegetarian-friendly. Service can be a tad sporadic based on when volleyball games or other important sporting events on TV end, but the staff are super friendly even when under a heavy load.Vegetarian options: They’re willing to substitute ingredients to make things more vegetarian-friendly. I recommend black beans as the protein on the quesadillas, and you can sub the garden patty on any of their burger types (not just the Garden Burger).They also have some great vegetarian sides.Kid-friendliness: They happily split the 2 tacos between 2 kids, and happily brought out as many sides as the kids wanted (which was a lot). Also, nobody really notices when kids are a bit loud at a sports bar.

The food was sub par, but the service was great. Arianna was our server and she was hilarious and attentive. Our drinks were never empty. Without her my review would be three stars at best but what the restaurant lacked she made up for with personality.
Usually Aussie's is pretty darn good but last month and today, I went into the eating area inside and was completely ignored. It wasn't t hat they were slammed or anything there were 8 empty parking spaces out front. Three different servers walked right by me. I used to come here quite a bit, maybe it would be more beneficial to them to have a host that greets you. If this continues can't say business will flourish for them with all the new restaurants in Austin to choose from. Very disappointed.

If your a guy looking to grab a beer and a burger, the chili is also good, this place has decent food and is not over priced. The staff has never once been friendly to me in the 4 or 5 times I have been there. Maybe I’m old fashioned but when I sit down and they see me at the bar for some reason I expect to be greeted. Usually they chat with the other staff at the end of the bar or do dishes for a few minutes before they acknowledge my presence. Then they just do and say the minimum required and never have tried to make me feel welcome…

Some of the worst food I’ve ever had and a terrible business as a whole. Opens at 9, kitchen doesn’t open till 10. For what purpose do you “open” at 9?Ordered chicken fried steak with fries, got chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes. It was definitely a frozen patty and the gravy was made from powder. My friend’s burgers were dry and nothing had any flavor.Just an all around awful experience. Will never go back here.
