AustinMed Break in South Austin is an absolute gem. The owner, Abduh, cooked the most flavorful beef shawarma plate I’ve ever had. It was perfectly seasoned and packed with authentic Mediterranean flavor. You can tell he genuinely cares about the food and the people he serves. This is hands-down some of the best Mediterranean food in the city, and it easily stands out from the rest. Some of the BEST Mediterranean and halal food I’ve ever had!! I got the zaalouk by recommendation of the owner (who is so kind and welcoming!) and the combo shawarma over rice. Both were absolutely incredible, the flavors were perfection and the portion sizes very generous. My order kept me fed for 3 meals! I can’t wait to be back.

Amazing food, I had the chicken wrap and it was incredible. You can tell it’s homemade and made with love. Plus, the garlic sauce served with it was absolutely delicious!

Portions are not small so it’s definitely worth the price.

The owner is super nice, really great discovering this place!
