Bob's Steak and Chop House - Austin

Our waiter, Chris, was absolutely excellent! Next time we visit Bob's we will definitely ask for him.

Both my kids attend UT so me and the wife were down for our annual trip and like always we take the kids out. We have never been to Bobs. Service was great atmosphere wonderful. Only negative was my son’s steak! it just happened to be a bad piece of meet. When they collected his plate with a steak that only had two bites they asked what was wrong and I said it was too tuff and chewy they offered to cook it more which would not have fixed it. I was really surprised when they just brought us the bill and never came to offer any kind of explanation like Hey we’re sorry about that or anything at all. I know Bob’s has been around for a while. The fact that a manager didn’t come by or anybody was surprising because of that will probably spend our money somewhere else. Disappointing at first time at Bob’s.

We went on Friday night after a comedy show around 8:45-9pm, it was my first time there and the food and the service was absolutely exceptional, thank you to Steeve who waited on us, finally a waiter that is engaging, can hold a conversation, and very attentive to detail, will definitely be back!

Love the bartenders and the $160 steak splits really well 2 ways. I prefer to cook a steak at home but if you're going out for steak, this is the spot.

Went for Valentines Day. Im not gonna lie, this place uses lots of butter but the food/butter is great. The daily specials seem to be better choices for mains but the desserts are top notch! Bread Pudding number 1, Carrot Cake 2. Steak was good with mushroom topper. Sides were okay honestly Ive seen better choices on sides other places. I gave it five stars because the Blue cheese salad dressing and bread pudding were amazeballs. Salads are well put together and love the pecans.

Be careful with the steaks! Ordered mine medium rare the steak came back rare. It was Valentine’s Day so it was a busy night and the food took a while for it to be served. Thought that it would be okay to eat the steak as-is to avoid sending it back to the kitchen. End up in the bathroom constantly this morning with endless diarrhea (from eating raw steak). Service was friendly but felt overlooked at times. Atmosphere was nice. Maybe will try again on a normal day but somewhat disappointed.

went for happy hour, food was great, atmosphere was great and welcoming. Service was a standout - Chris was my server and he made my partner and I feel welcome and made our day. I wish I could give 10 stars to the staff as they were incredible.

We were in town for my daughter's birthday, And this was her special dinner. It could have absolutely not been better! Our servers for top notch! and everything we ate and drank was beyond expectation! The only thing i'm sad about is,It'll be so far away, but we'll return! Bravo!

Well this used to be my favorite place to go for my birthday dinner but not anymore. Three size filets got the medium one disappointed just wasn’t a good filet. Margaritas top shelf below average price way to high in tall skinny glass three sips and done. Bill was almost five hundred w gratuity, you’d think spending that much for dinner for two it be a great dinner. Oh and one more thing lobster Mac n cheese which is always incredible very lame with hardly any lobster in it. That’s enough to make me not want to return to my favorite restaurant in Austin.

Everyone at our table loved the food and service was excellent! Noteworthy menu items included the ribeye, filet, tuna tartar , Old Fashioned made with Eagle Rare 10yr, and the wedge salad was also very good. Highly recommend!

I had my wedding scheduled at Bob’s Rooftop in May but unfortunately had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. Even so, working with Jackie, their event coordinator, was an absolute joy—I highly recommend this venue! She went above and beyond, essentially acting as my wedding planner.

Jackie offered to test the champagne tower for me, helped fit tablecloths and chair covers (especially helpful since I’m not local), accepted deliveries on my behalf, and assisted with setting up the band, cake, florals, and more. She was always available, incredibly kind, and genuinely fun to work with.

I felt awful about canceling, and she couldn’t have been more understanding. Bob’s Rooftop offers amazing pricing, top-notch service, and the best staff. And of course, delicious food (this was one of my fave spots in Austin) Huge thanks to Jackie for everything! 🩷

Steak nothing special if I wanted pot roast tasting steak I would go eat a comfort food spot very overrated someone refers me said they had best. Lol what lies definitely in last place my opinion try for yourself smh never thought tk even try ever again..

Outstanding first experience at Bobs last night for a birthday. Service was on point, cocktails were delicious, host was next level with greeting and a commemorative photo, excellent bone in strip and sides. Couldn't have asked for more! We'll be back! 5stars
