A classic value in South Austin. My wife and I keep returning to discover new tastes and gustatory sensations. The service, though slow (there was only one person in charge of serving on a Sunday night-Gregory did an excellent job), was efficient and friendly. When full, the room may be noisy but this does not distract from the fun. I know we will keep returning as we are never disappointed at Cafe Malta.
I was searching for a nice or upscale restaurant to celebrate my 11 year anniversary. This place was neither!!! The hostess was dressed like a slob, crusty elbows and all. The food was okay, but nothing special. I got a pork chop and it was smothered in gravy, that's all you could taste was brown gravy. The braised beef rib was 50% fat so my wife was kind of upset with that. The collard greens were okay but for $30 a plate I expected more than $1 worth of greens for the vegetable option. It was very plain and in no way seemed Mediterranean. I literally left the place apologizing to my wife and promising a redo of our anniversary dinner. The Gnocchi was pretty dope though.
My mom and so love this place. Everytime she comes to visit. From Milwaukee it is the first place we go.
The food was so good and it was the perfect NYE dinner without crazy crowds or spending a fortune! Love this sweet little neighborhood spot!

Jessica is the perfect hostess and our favorite! This is our restaurant for special and sometimes no-special occasions. Good selections we've come to love that you can find nowhere else and always wonderful surprises to tempt us! Ambiance is warm and inviting.
I had low expectations of this restaurant given the location but was blown away. Food was great - wonderful flavors, good presentation- plus the atmosphere is calm and cozy. Will be back with friends!

First time to visit
Was excited about mussels special, hoping it would be authentic like in European as this place is advertised as European cuisine
Unfortunately, this dish fell short: the mussels were over done and very small, amount was like a teaser and the wine sauce was off (maybe over cooked or old) and the price was ridiculous
The ambiance was dim lighting and it appeared mostly locals frequent this establishment
The bartender was exceptional and hostess was pleasant, however our waiter was extremely rude and impatient (he may have been going through personal issues but as a server one should leave that attitude at home and be prepared to do their job to best ability)
We also tried a glass of wine and dessert. Both were very delicious.
Overall prices here are a way too high for the quality. If better servers than this is a nice, somewhat fancy hang out for business or meeting up with friends, otherwise I currently don't recommend due to high prices; rude, unattentive service, and sub-par quality of food.

Tour de Forks has been our regular for over 8 years. Always a great selection for the special bi-monthly events.

Food is always outstanding and fresh, and they are always nice enough to accept substitutions, if requested. Cocktails were delicious and the bartender was delicate and kind enough to remove the salt on the rim of my glass, before he poured it out into a new glass so I wouldn't notice. This was very much appreciated it. The service was also excellent and extremely polite. It's always a great experience!
Came in for lunch and it was amazing. I had the Croque Madame it was ham, gruyere, Dijon, and bechamel on housemade baguette, topped with 2 fried pasture-raised local eggs, served with sautéed zucchini. Fantastic! Service is always great and the staff is attentive.

We love the Tour de Forks! It's like a mini travel experience! This time we went to Venice. The fried polenta triangle with tallagio cheese melted on it was undescribably delicious! Please add to menu!!!! And the seafood stew, just give me that broth please! Not a single drop was left in anyones bowl. We would have loved another crostini or two and something green in one of the courses.
Love trying new foods with Tour de Forks. First two courses were good. Main course was just ok. Mussels were sandy as was the bottom of the soup bowl and the scallops were overcooked. Dessert had good flavor but last fingers were a little too soaked and the coffee flavor was overpowering and the bottom was soggy. Overall will try it again because it is a good value for $40.
The food is always good. Especially love the Tour de Forks. The atmosphere is friendly and the service is good. Definitely out favored restaurant in South Austin.
