If you haven’t been RUN to Cafe Malta! This place has it all. Excellent food, fabulous drinks & great staff! If you’re lucky enough to have Jessica as your server you’re in for a treat! LOVE IT ALL!
I love their salad with salmon for lunch. Good food, pretty healthy and nice people. It's a lovely place for a good lunch.
This was SO good! Met friends for dinner. Our table has the brisket ravioli x 2, the pork shoulder and the
Cabernet-braised Texas beef short rib. ALL of us enjoyed our meals greatly. The wine and drinks were so good. A great ending were the desserts of Bread pudding, butterscotch & crème anglaise,
Basil panna cotta with strawberry purée x 2, port and espresso. The service was impeccable the whole way through. We would highly recommend this place!
This is the little secret of those in the know. I have shared with friends that now drive down from far North to eat here. It's like a little restaurant in Europe, where the food is delicious and reasonable. And you don't have to get to fancy to enjoy a good meal.
Cafe Malta is, without a doubt, one of Austin’s true hidden gems. My fiancé and I have been loyal fans for over a decade, and every visit still feels like a special treat. The food is consistently outstanding; the Brisket Ravioli and the Bistro are nothing short of heavenly! Each bite is packed with rich, comforting flavors that somehow manage to feel both rustic and elevated at the same time. Their wine selection never disappoints either, always thoughtfully curated and perfect for pairing. The owners are some of the sweetest, most welcoming people you’ll ever meet. You can truly feel the love and pride they pour into Cafe Malta. Honestly, if we could eat here every day of the week, we would! Highly, highly recommend!
Such a gem ! Truly fantastic food and drinks! Great service! Don't make it that far south very often but will make an exception for Malta!
The Palestine menu was imaginative and delicious. Archer kept things well-paced at our table and, as always, we are already looking forward to the next TdF evening in early May -- Many thanks, once again -- mj
It's such a gem of a restaurant. I'm visiting the area scrolling through Google Maps, trying to find a restaurant for almost an hour. I finally see Cafe Malta. It was full of locals, so you know it's great. The chef created meals, the wine list, the dessert. It was all 5 stars. The only ding was that my waitress was also the bartender, so service took longer than it should have. There was definitely a wait and lag between courses and trying to pay. I'm going to forgive them this time because the food was phenomenal. I wish I had not forgotten to take pictures.
My family has been going to Cafe Malta for years--we are big fans. Our last couple of visits, however, have been disappointing. Last night, three of us had pasta dishes that were a little tasteless. The other had the Snapper Provencal, which was overcooked; the accompanying couscous and collards were over salted. We love the ambience of Cafe Malta and the friendly staff, but the food quality appears to be slipping (despite higher prices).
Great neighborhood restaurant; great meals. We brought friends from out of town and they loved their meals and drinks.

Always delicious and delightful! Jus be prepared for limited hop room between the tables 😆
Great food! Awesome service Everything was perfect. They pay attention to details - it was the best date night
Met a friend for lunch, her first time. She loved the ambience - and as expected, our lunch was great. I especially enjoyed my roasted vegetable bisque and William Chris Rosé! Cheers!
We decided to try Cafe Malta due to all the reviews and the star rating. Found to be very disappointed. We ordered the Arista per the recommendation of our waitress. The pork had a huge piece of fat on bottom and lacked flavor. The polenta was bland and also lacked any flavor. The waitress was nice but lacked in service. I would not recommend this place.
Cafe Malta was a great find for us. We were visiting Austin for a couple of days. It's a short drive from the Ladybird Wildflower Center and we went for a late lunch. The children and adults were all happy with their choices.
