We got the cheese and biltong plate and it was amazing! There was an amazing selection of cheeses as well as locally made South African charcuterie. It was incredibly delicious and the wines that we paired with it were equally delicious!

I visited Cape Bottle Room a few weeks ago and had a great experience. They had a wonderful selection and John was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations and insights into the flavors. The space is open and welcoming and would be great for a casual pop in or small event. Will definitely come again next time I'm in Austin.

Cool place serving a wide array of South African wines and snacks. We got a bottle of tannat and a bread board that came with goat cheese and olive marmalade. Everything was delicious and the staff was knowledgeable in helping pick a bottle and all around nice and friendly. Would come

Came here on a Monday at 4pm to avoid the crazy parking and crowds. There is paid street parking right outside of the space. This is a cozy place to get nice South African wine and snacks. The staff were friendly and helpful. I tried the curator red blend and it was a solid medium bodied wine. We also had the meat and cheese board. The cheeses were amazing and the jerky-like meat has some different and interesting flavors like coriander. Loved the honey comb with the goat cheese.

Cape Bottle Room is quietly nestled off the busy 6th street of East Austin. It's a clean and minimalistic space focused on some high quality South African wines (hence the name). I usually go when they're not very busy, so I've found that the employees have the time to talk me through the menu and help me pick my wines. I love getting a flight to get to sample several styles, and since the team is so knowledgeable, their recommendations are spot on. The wines are solid and not overly expensive. Great place to stop in for a quick drink between activities or for a chill night catching up with a friend.

The vibes and ambiance of this place is amazing! We came for a friend's birthday on a friday nice and the service was amazing. They were very knowledgeable on all things wine and are able to recommend you different options based on the flavor profile and types of wine that you enjoy. They have little snacks but don't expect much it's just regular ole potato chips. I think this is a great place for date night or girls night!

Had a great time at Cape Bottle Room this past weekend! Our somm, John, was very knowledgeable and awesome to chat with. The wines were all great and we really enjoyed the charcuterie board, probably the best I’ve had in Austin. Highly recommend!

South African wines are among the best in the world, so I'm thrilled that this place has opened in Austin. All wines are sourced and imported from SA. We did a tasting and left with two bottles. Great menu of wine-friendly snacks and awesome staff. Can't wait to return.

Thrilled that this lovely spot has opened in Austin. South Africa produces top notch wines and it's great to see the U.S. finally catching on. Super wines, wonderful staff and a great vibe.

Superb wine bar, and extremely unique, focusing on outstanding and underrated S African wine. I've dreamed of finding a place like this ever since visiting S Africa in 2015. Don't miss this place if you like trying new excellent wines!

Came for a live music event so can't comment on the bottle selection. Ambiance is cool and cozy, and the sound quality was good. In terms of counter service, friendly staff. My phone wouldn't pick up the menu QR code, so I got an unspecified glass of rose and a cheese plate while uninformed of price. The plastic refrigeration containers of pre-bought items were all out on the counter. Below is what I received, which I'd value at about $14 cost at absolute max. I was charged $47, pre-tip. Maybe I'm out of touch. You decide the value for cost of this place.
