I ordered the beef fajitas, they were okay. The rice and beans tasted like the were canned. The service was good. The atmosphere was okay but very noisy.

This chuys changes each time I go:Some days it’s good some days it’s horrible:This was one of the yucky times:I went and waited 175 mins for simple fajitas and the staff was in chaos mood:They did okay ish about refilling drinks and chips,Had to ask for dip and napkins 2-3 timesbut the kicker is that our food never came until the endwhen we were leaving,so I actually had to take my food along with a to go box and the checkat the same timethen I was overcharged for three items that were actually supposed to be on the 3 to 6 PM happy hourbut because the food took so long I actually wasn’t able to get the happy hour price even though I was there at five or before five. They woulda left it as is had I not noticed. He then argued with me as to the price and said sorry it’s past 6pm. I was like woah no no no we have been here since 4:43pm.Thank God we had the text from our table wait app to show him what time we were seated:He even looked shocked at what time it was and he said “oh wow hang on”.At that point, I thought he was probably just gonna take it off of our bill and be sweet but he just came back and lowered the price of the bill and said that he had “talked to his manager and was allowed to do it “lolDuhhhhh!of course you’re allowed to do it.We were there before five bro:I would never go during happy hour again:I don’t even drink and have not in 6 years .I think it’s an Austin icon and this one is better by farrrr then any other location as far as food:If they lose this chef I’m afraid the place will be garbage. Please keep him (or her or them )because that’s all you got going for you:Kid-friendliness: They have a coloring packet : but nothing for kids to realllly keep them entertained . But it’s a restaurant : kids don’t need to be worried about long term hangout. They would do well to install a playscape outside :They would get all the parents and make tons of money in sure:But that’s a lot I’m sure:We just have to go to cruddy old docs for their playground and we don’t like their food at all at Docs:Would be cool if they could get a few things for 6-10 year olds .

Ordered the fajitas and got three slices of onions, a few peppers, and no fajita kit (sour cream, cheese, pico, etc). Disappointing for the price.

Waited over 30 minutes for my pickup order, and it was never ready. Terrible costumer service as well.

Me and my family went to chuys south austin today sunday. Very dissapointed on the food and service. The fajitas are dry and they never pickup your plate when you are done eating. And expensive ! Never again !

Honestly I don't get why everyone in Texas says you have to go to Chuys. Wasn't that great of food, totally American style Mexican. Got pretty sick to my stomach (the purges real!) the days after eating here. Would go again. Only perk was it was cheap... but value vs quality ratio was way off and getting sick after killed the deal.

Only the chips and salsas were good. I'm not sure there was any alcohol in the margaritas. The beef quesadillas tasted more like Philly cheese steak (no seasoning). The food was cold when brought to us. The tortillas weren't fully cooked. Tortilla soup had no cheese and tasted more like chicken noodle soup. Rice was bland. Enchilada sauce and beans were overpowering salty. They seemed understaffed. Would've been cheaper to go to a small jalisco, and would've got better food and service.

Great place for casual dining. Had attentive service during entire meal. Food and drinks were good.Parking: It gets very busy at typical meal times. Go a bit earlier and it's easier to find parking.

They have not gone back to their full menu and the lack of variety left leaves me missing so much!

My favorite go to for Mexican food in Austin. Love their creamy jalapeño, burritos, and boom boom sauce. A must go to!

We drove all the way from Round Rock for their limited time menu - to get Chile rellenos that they have not served in several years. Although the breading is a bit different, they were still crispy and good. Service was excellent.

Justin was the best waiter I’ve encountered in a long time. Will come back just because of the service.
