Having purchased their sweet products at other vendors, it was a delight to visit the home base (open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). My first on-site visit yielded a beautiful biscuit with ham, brie, and strawberry jam. A spiced carrot cake with the best cream cheese frosting finished my lunch. For home, I selected lemon curd from the refrigerator, strawberry Meyer lemon jam, grapefruit marmalade, and Cowgirl salt with lemon and pink peppercorns.

I wish I lived in Austin so I could go here all the time!!! I absolutely love what these folks are doing, using Barton Springs APF in their biscuits, showcasing seasonal local produce in their jam rotation, making handpies, and selling adorable giftable curated dry goods.I had an incredible walk in experience as well- the lady on front of me ordered the last few handpies. When I inquired about what they might have in the back, one of the bakers asked if I would wait and she could bake off some for me from the freezer? It was ABSOLUTELY worth the wait!!! And in the meantime I had biscuits with butter and jam (i picked two flavors) and the subtlety of the pear meyer lemon really surprised me in the best possible way.

Excellent drip coffee

I had:

The pimento cheese and tomato biscuit

Drip Coffee

Poteet Strawberry jam with two biscuits

Blueberry Scones (boxed to take away)

All excellent and nice seasoning in the pimento cheese. I enjoyed the heirloom tomatoes which accompanied the pimento cheese biscuit.

The butter is outstanding.

The butter, various in house made jams; and pimento cheese are available to take away.

Parking: Three spots in front. Small lot behind store.

IF THE CHAIRS ARE OUT, THEY ARE OPEN!! Their sign isn't up and the coated windows make it look dark, but they are open! Wonderful service and food. Ask for a metal knife, or bring your own; the plastic knives they gave us broke when trying to cut the cold butter. Great jams make great gifts!

Cute little shop with very friendly staff. Sadly the food didn't meet expectations. Order the fried green tomato biscuit which was bland and the "creole" seasoning was a large dollop of plain mayo with literally the barest pinch of tony charchere's sprinkled on top. The grain biscuit was tasty though.

This is such a lovely shop with even lovelier people running it! I buy (gorgeous local) flowers from them sometimes, and it is such a joy to interact with these guys each and every time.

We drove all the way from Round Rock to have a great biscuit breakfast at what appeared to be a 5 star restaurant. They advertised as dine-in, so we were looking forward to a nice sit-down meal! What could possibly go wrong? When we arrived at Confituras it appeared to be an abandoned building. There was no dine-in or even order-in/take-out. All we saw was a handwritten sign taped on the door saying: text us when u arrive and we’ll put ur order on the outside table!! Are you kidding me? I feel like I’m back in Haiti? Needless to say we didn’t order and we drove to Shake Shack.

The orange jelly is amazing. A dessert in itself

Confituras is my beloved local spot for flaky biscuits and jam, the freshest salads and soups made with Texas-grown produce, products by local food artisans, and wonderful hospitality by the owner and her team. A true gem in the Zilker neighborhood.
