We had a great time having lunch. We had a large group of 10 and made a reservation online. When you do that, you cant split the bill and they can only run 4 different cards (you can choose the amount thay goes on the different cards).
The food was great, we got a lot of items. The snapper and shrimp ceviche, queso, tacos, taquitos, carnitas plate and enchiladas. Everything was delicious. I got the tacos al pastor, they were delicious and came with 2 large tacos.
The margaritas were excellent. I had the blackberry and most people on my party got the frozen avocado. My wife got a flight and we were not prepared for the size! It was 4, 8oz glasses for $45. All the flavors were great.

Love our waiter. The owner stopped by our table and asked us if we needed anything and how we liked the food. Love how colorful the place looked

Curra’s never disappoints! Their authentic mole is rich, complex, and layered with flavor in a way only true Mexican kitchens can achieve. And of course, you can’t visit without trying their iconic aguacate margarita. So refreshing and dangerously smooth and delicious! By to mention, unlike anything else in Austin.
Even on a packed night, the staff went above and beyond, offering me a drink while I waited for a table. Little gestures like that speak volumes about their ability hospitality and keep me coming back. If you want a place where the food is as memorable as the service, Curra’s is it.

I came here 2 years ago and enjoyed the food and gave 5 star review.
The food was still tasty this time but the service was very very poor. The lady server has an attitude that does not suit being a waitress at all. She seems so annoyed at questions about the food as if it was too much trouble and she was as far away from creating a friendly atmosphere as you can get. She left us unattended and I had to go find her and other staff members when I needed simple things like napkins.
I enquired to the younger male waiter about what the frozen alcoholic drinks were made from and he looked at me blankly and said he didn't know. I asked the 3rd server for some napkins he said he'd sort it right away and then was just chatting at the bar and seemed to instantly forget what he'd said.
In summary the food is tasty but the poor service either through incompetence or, in the lady server's case, a very unfriendly and unprofessional manner, it made me want to get out of the restaurant as quickly as possible which is sad because I have previously enjoyed coming here.

You have to get an avocado margarita. They are so creamy and delicious. I recommend their tacos encebollados on red corn tortillas, Queso flameado, Cochinita Pibil, Curra’s beef tips, and caldo Tlalpeno.

This place used to be my favorite some years ago when I lived in Austin. I used to eat meat back then but now I’m vegetarian. I was really excited to try their vegetarian chile relleno. The menu said it was a vegetarian chorizo chile relleno… well judge for yourself in the picture if this has any right being called a chorizo chile relleno. The waitress and manager were both pretty rude pointing at the crumbs of chorizo. If a meat eater ordered a chorizo chile relleno and got crumbs of chorizo they would not be happy with the dish either. Just because I am a vegetarian doesn’t mean I want to just eat vegetables.
Also, the service was pretty bad beyond them being rude and loudly discussing the issue. The server was unable to check on us in a timely manner because she had too many tables. It took awhile for the server to even come back and check what we thought of the food. In the end they ended up charging me for the rice and beans I ate while waiting for the server to come back and check on us since by that point my husband was pretty much done with his meal and I didn’t want to wait on a new dish.

My wife and I LOVE Curras! The food, drinks, and service has always been great. I suggest the mole duck tacos, tacos encebollados, and my all time favorite, the cochinita pibil. They also have a great drink menu with plenty of margarita choices to make you happy.
