DeSano Pizzeria Napoletana - Downtown Austin

Walked into DeSano Pizzeria Napoletana and immediately realized the interior is… petite. Cute, but petite. Seating is limited enough that you start mentally drafting backup plans the moment you step inside. We ordered the lasagna pizza, which tasted good but was noticeably undercooked — soft enough that it felt like it needed another round in the oven. And the “lasagna” angle? I’m still trying to decode it. Everything listed as the lasagna components were things a normal pizza already has, so the theme didn’t quite land. Overall: good flavor, but execution missed the mark for us.

Pro tip: order it to go so you’re not stuck awkwardly hovering for a table.

I took my daughters here for dinner back in April, and it was a great experience with fine service from the friendly staff and the amazing pizza we had. It was a quiet evening so we sat in the big room where they make the dough, with the equipment and the flour there. Having worked in restaurants, I loved this as a dining space!

Amazing little pizza cafe with quick service and great atmosphere. Wish we lived closer as this would become a regular haunt. Try the Desano pizza!

I have raved about DeSano pizza to my colleagues. Any time I have a chance to be in downtown Austin, I am making a stop to get my Verdura pizza. So good! And of course I had to stop by today and the service was phenomenal. Monet was cashier/server and she went above and beyond to help me out. I knew I would have leftovers since I ordered the 16” (biggest one they have) and I was traveling out tomorrow. When I mentioned it to her, she gave me foils and a small take out bag so I would be able to wrap the leftover slices and take it on my trip. She was very thoughtful patient and so friendly. Thank you Monet! You made my experience even more special. And of course my Verdura pizza was spot on. See you all next time I’m in Austin.

Great place for pizza Jesse accidentally made a pepperoni pizza and instead of throwing it away they just gave it to us which is very considerate!

We ordered a box of Pistachio Cannoli ($5.99 each) for a Sicilian themed dinner party. While I waited for my order it was cool to watch them make pizza right in front of me and the smell was wonderful. The cannoli were huge and each couple ended up sharing one and we still had leftovers. The cream filling was really light and subtly sweet while the pastry shell was on the softer side for a fried shell. It was different from what I was expecting but an interesting dessert to try.

This place had amazing customer service! The food was amazing especially the cannolis. As soon as I came in the store i felt very welcomed. The cashiers were very polite and friendly. Definitely coming back soon!!

Fantastic Italian fare! Close walk from ACL Moody Concert Venue! We ate here after a concert this week-salad, meatballs, focaccia, & 2 pizzas! The staff was lovely -we had plenty to take home too! Delicious!!!!!!!
