First time here, had me waiting for 20 mins without service, and she laughed as I left the establishment. Worst service needs more people to take care of clients. Never even giving this place another chance

The king of Eastern (predominantly Japanese) bites. The decor is fun and consistent. Lots of micro art and found objects are strewn about shelves and walls. For someone with a love of chicken karage and udon, this is always a welcome spot.

So glad there’s an East Side King on SoLa! Their beet fries are NEXT LEVEL— unlike anything my tastebuds have experienced before. The spicy Avocado buns are flavorful and have excellent mouthfeel. I also highly recommend the crispy fried tofu Curry! So many fresh herbs sprinkled on top add a punch of flavor. There’s plenty of seating— high tables, booths and four tops. The parking can be tricky, because the lot adjacent to the building will boot / tow your car (quickly) so be aware to park near Chipotle.

Their food looks good, but the neighborhood takes advantage of honest people who don't know the area. If you drive behind the business and park (next to a bunch of other businesses) and walk to the restaurant, they have a snake of a man hiding in the bushes who will immediately throw a $100 boot on your tire.. I parked , walked up to the business and saw signs that warned for this and not to park there, so I immediately turned around to go get my car and drive out of there... However, the little snake man doesn't give you time to realize your mistake and gives NO time to correct it.. it took me 2 minutes and the boot was on, nothing to to do but pay up (the little snake man has no empathy and don't care, he's there to scam and collect), and sadly I didn't have any appetite anymore so East side king made no money on me...however the little snake man had extra coin in his little pouch.

Nice job, it's a racket they have there..
They make a LOOOOT of money this way, so obviously the parking "guards" are instructed to sit like hawks and wait for someone to make a mistake and pounce on the car when they walk away.. If it wasn't a racket, the guards would kindly tell you to move the car or at least give you a chance to realize the business is not part of the other businesses there..
They argue the address but what person knows the difference between different blocks? We don't live there, we parked next to businesses to do business!!

The guards argue that if you didn't go in to the businesses that the parking is for, you abandoned the car, but who is he to judge that my intention wasn't to go into those businesses too? THAT'S WHAT PEOPLE DO IN A SHOPPING AREA!
This way they really are damaging all the businesses there because who wants to ever go back there again after this? Very sour taste in my mouth, and those businesses are dead to me..

Again, no hate on East side kings I guess, they are aware, try to warn with signing (but I had to park further away so I didn't see it until it was too late). Apparently they have tried to lease parking from this property but the landlord is a little snake too and likes to take advantage of honest people and make easy money. This has NOTHING to do with the parking being an issue for the businesses there, it's ONLY to take advantage and make quick money..

Enjoyed dinner here recently with a friend and ate family style. Every item we had was delicious. East Side King is a great place to try a new flavors while sharing the experience with a friend!

Parking: Be careful entering the parking lot. There was more of a dip than expected.

Curry had very little flavor, rice was soggy. Ironically the only thing we enjoyed was the Japanese mayo. Overall the food flavor is very subpar

Do NOT park in the parking lot next to East Side King. They will boot your car and will not remove it until you pay $100 even if you are a customer and it says that parking is for customers. I walked over to look at the sign on the front door of East Side King and saw that it said to park somewhere else so we immediately went to move the car just one minute after parking there and my car was already booted. The parking guy had apparently been sitting in his car watching us try to figure out where we could/couldn’t park and said nothing and booted our car. This was a super frustrating and upsetting experience and we left without any food.

Parking: DO NOT PARK IN THE LOT NEXT TO EAST SIDE KING UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE BOOTED AND PAY $100

My car was booted here when I went into pick up some take out. Interestingly enough another customer also had his car booted mere minutes later. The resturaunt staff was apologetic, but scanning the google reviews I see that this has been an ongoing issue for the resturaunt, can't help to think east side king can be doing more to warn and prevent customers from being fleeced by a shady booting operator that camps out in the parking lot next door.

This is a nice Asian-fusion eatery. We’ve been there a couple of times, and we liked it. My personal recommendation is the Moto Bento Box—it’s really delicious, and I love that it has a lot of fish. Make sure to order the spicy mayo on the side for your salmon and tuna; it makes it even better. The Katsu Sando was also great—we enjoyed how crispy the chicken was. If you like chicken, I’d also recommend the ESK Kara-Age Bowl. It’s another tasty option.

Have gone twice now, got my food to go both times!

Cucumber salad - be prepared for the cilantro in this one
Chili wontons - delicious, perfect amount of heat
Avocado buns - the avocado is super crispy and makes for a delicious filler
Pork belly buns - crispy and cooked to perfection

Delicious and fast!
