Excellent 1/2 chicken with excellent onion, usual sides. I missed living in the neighborhood near the #2 North Lamar location. I stopped by at a slow time of day, polite staff and great food. Took to go, but the place was clean and ready for business later on in the day. Grabbed a couple neighborhood newspapers as I left.
We have enjoyed eating take out from there and have loved the horchatas but the last time we ate there we got food poisoning. It may have been from the Mexican style cheese that was recalled the day before, but now was have crossed them off our list of safe eating places.
The charcoal smell caught our attention. Smells just like a picnic in the park. Excellent tacos on corn tortillas. I had the grilled chicken and al pastor. Both fresh and delicious. The rice and chicken bowl was also excellent with lime and spicy guacamole sauce. High quality fast food that tastes homemade.
