It's a very small place and very popular so be ready to wait. The pho was good but a little bland. The Bánh mì was very tasty and seasoned well and the bread was fresh and crunchy. Their spring rolls were very good with a great flavor.

The fact that I wasn’t at all regretful about paying $18 for a Banh Mi should tell you everything you need to know! Places like this cafe are what make the Austin food scene so versatile and superior. The baguettes are made fresh in house daily- I’d HIGHLY recommend the salt & pepper shrimp Banh Mi as well as the Tiger Lily cocktail. All the staff made us feel at home and we couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience.

Foods not great, it’s pricey, great atmosphere but don’t go if you’re looking for bomb authentic Vietnamese food. Good date spot 3/5 cause low on flavor and portions and high on price.

Ate outside, great outdoor eating area with vey cool try cover. Now the food. I had the grilled pork BU’N. It was phenomenal. Great combination of fresh, savory, sweet, crunchy and umami. The nuam choc sauce was excellent. Wife had the tofu bahn mi. She said tje fried tofu tastes just like pork. We were vacationing from Maine otherwise we would be regulars. Also table has the only 4 condiments you ever need. Housin, sambal, fish sauce and siracha. Well done!

Great food, staff is nice, but they need to work out the layout & logistics of this place. Their parking lot is a nightmare.I hope they reconfigure it all or open a second location.

Love the location and ambience of the restaurant. Thou the outdoor area is facing two roads, it still feels tucked in and relatively quiet. We ordered crispy chicken rolls. That was tasty and love the dipping sauce came with it!We also ordered Singapore noodles and Banh Mi, both were just Ok. The noodles are on the oily side and not enough vegetables and curry powder. Banh Mi was rather bland.I’ll probably come back and try the pastry next time.Dog is allowed on the patio which is a bonus.

I visited Elizabeth Street Cafe for lunch. We ordered the Vietnamese coffee, fried spring rolls, drunken noodles with steak, and fried rice with steak. We received our coffee first and honestly it did not make a great first impression. It was noticeably weaker than literally any other Vietnamese coffee I’ve had before. The fried spring rolls were quite tasty. The filling was a different meat mixture than I’d had before but still extremely satisfying and fried to perfection. The drunken noodles were also tasty. The sauce was great but the noodles were slightly undercooked and hard for me. The steak was tender and juicy. The fried rice was unexpectedly the best thing I tried there. One spoon was like a punch of flavor and something I could readily recommend.Elizabeth Street Cafe is a Vietnamese inspired restaurant but I definitely would not come here expecting to get authentic Vietnamese food. Like many fusion restaurants in Austin, Elizabeth Street Cafe takes traditionally Vietnamese/southeast Asian flavors and adds their own unique modern twist to them. If you’re able to come with an open mindset I think you would be able to experience something new and tasty here. Additionally, like many fusion restaurants in Austin, Elizabeth Street Cafe is not cheap by any means. It was $100 two coffees, two entrees, and an appetizer after tip. Definitely not a cheap place. I would only recommend those looking to try Asian fusion with an upscale twist visit here. Authentic Asian food seekers avoid like the plague.

Beware of sitting inside, especially in the gallery, it can get incredibly loud and you may not be able to hear the person sitting directly across from you! Otherwise delicious Vietnamese fare with some French touches here and there, and very nice staff. I recommend the beignets!

We were there early on a Sunday morning & the food was VERY slow coming out. We were having a nice conversation & had the time to linger but if we had been in any kind of hurry it would have been a problem. Waitstaff was attentive & kind. The food was amazing! There are only three parking places in their lot and limited parking in the surrounding neighborhoods so definitely either ride share or allow time to locate a parking place.

Would love to see this place serve healthier versions of Asian dishes like the pho without MSG and cooking without seed oils. This means using higher quality ingredients but it's justified for the premium you're paying for the food. Atmosphere is good and service is good with many gluten free options.
