Epoch is some of the best coffee in Austin! Their cold brew, filters, espresso, and flashbrews are all superb. They clearly care about coffee, seek out artisan roasters, and prepare the coffee well. The matcha is decent as well (though, this seems to depend on who makes it). Unfortunately, the chai (Rishi concentrate, I think?) and syrups do not meet the same standard and the mocha was a powder (at least last time I tried it), which lacks a strong flavour and often does not mix...
Love the atmosphere. Bright, oddly tropical or Caribbean, and lots of space to relax in. The coffee, on the other hand, was “just okay”. Of course I love a good coffee and I have drank coffee all over the world, but it seems like this one was a bit burnt and lacked consistency all the way through. Nothing wrong with that, of course, if that’s your jam…but it did leave me a bit disappointed. Barista was nice and she was quite efficient at the machine. I got a latte while...
Me and my partner only had coffees from Epoch, one of the best coffees we’ve had here in Austin. The space was really cute, queer and trans friendly with lots of advice and safety tips around. Would highly recommend
