Epoch is the people’s coffee shop, bringing us back to the days of the salon. With a pleasantly quirky atmosphere, Epoch is easy to sit in. Also, one must comment on the incredible 24hr vision of a coffeeshop. The coffee is good, between flightpath and merit, perhaps. If starbucks is the bare minimum for consistency, Epoch is at least as good: this is high praise for the otherwise pathetic coffee in Hyde Park/North Loop. Many interesting flavor combinations for coffee, but my libation of choice is the Iced Mojo, a blend of coffee, chocolate milk, cocoa, and I don't know what else in a frothy, delicious elixir. I asked for the recipe and was told it was a house secret, much to my chagrin.

They got a great vibe going on here, I think it's because they are near a stream that being here is so relaxing. I tried one of their summer drinks I cannot remember what it was but it was soothing. They got blackboards painted on the restroom to leave your own little message for the next person that walks in.
