The only thing going for this place is the play scape for the kids to keep them busy. The food is below average and the margaritas were not very tasty.

Nachos were soggy and barely gave us any Guacamole. The chips tasted like paper.

This restaurant is mediocre!!
We have dined a in a few times and it's always been a reasonable pricing for the average service.
This was not my first time ordering a Mexican Martini but was the first time I paid for my 1 Mexican Martini $18 !! Nott even for premium tequila House tequila.
My nachos were soggy too.
Whoever's cooking there now is not the same the service is not the same and they have very very outrageous prices on their drinks which are ridiculous because the drink does not equal the price.
When I spoke to the manager every question was the with the same rebuttal, "I'm not the owner I am not the owner only a manager."
What happened to this place?
Remember at Flores $18 for 1 Mexican martini.
We are regulars here and today was an awful experience. Our waitress was not engaged at all. Rude and rushed us she acted annnoyed and After our order came out wrong and with chicken in it we asked for a manager and he minimized it all and didn’t even remove it from our bill. He also ignored that we mentioned the waitress was not friendly at all. We won’t be going back here for a very long time. We asked for the correct order to go and this is how they handed it to us. Queso spilled everywhere!! So unprofessional.

Flores has been a special place to me for many years. Their queso is low-key one of my favorites as is their salsa - not too chunky and just the right amount of heat. Their main food has not dipped in quality in the 10+ years I've frequented the platheythey use to have the spot where via 313 is on William cannon). Great option for good Tex-Mex. I'd rank it below Matt's el rancho but higher than texican, maudies, or chuys.

Today 09-17-2024 we came here after my daughter school to get dinner. We asked for quiet area. But she denied the access. She said that the area was closed. We called the manager. Nicely she said you could sit at one corner. Nothing wrong with that. Thanks. The customer is always first no matter how much they going to consume this day. I love carne en chile giajillo.

I had a very disappointing experience at Flores last night. While the server was quick to bring our drinks, after that, nobody attended to our table. We waited for 15 minutes before I had to walk inside to remind them of our order. When the food finally arrived, we asked for four simple things: more water, salt, napkins, and corn tortillas. After another 10 minutes passed with no response, so I had to go inside again to request these items. The service really needs improvement. I would prefer to drive farther to my usual Mexican restaurant rather than return to this experience.

We’ve been coming to Flores for 9 years, and we used to really enjoy our time here. Service was always a gamble but sometimes we had stellar servers and other times we’d wonder if they were being forced to work it seemed so painful for them to even take a simple drink order. Unfortunately I think this weekend will be our last time. The food quality has declined, the service has become steadily worse. But the drinks, my god the drinks. We used to come here for the best deals on frozen margaritas, the La Florita. However what used to be $9 went up to $11 after a few years, and now it’s an unbelievable $22 for a florita + floater. Paired with the increases in food costs, what used to cost our family to eat and drink here well - $100 is now $200, and not everyone even ordered an entree! It’s simply not worth it.
We also noticed that what used to be a packed house on Saturday afternoon was practically empty. We aren’t the only ones feeling the burn and I don’t mean from the strong drinks!
Sorry, we will miss you, Flores. Farewell.

Staff and waiter were nice, service was fine. But the food… extremely disappointed. It tasted like microwaved and canned food. We ordered fajitas. The chicken says John Soules on the menu, which confirms this restaurant just microwaves it since that brand comes cooked and prepped. It was so dry and some pieces rubbery, bland seasoning. Rice was very mushy. Beans tastes canned. Definitely not the sizzling fajitas you expect at a Tex mex place. Really wanted to like it but won’t be returning ☹️

The "Chalupas" on the menu are TOSTADAS! No pictures to show on menu and we were told that's what a chalupa is. Telling your customers they are wrong when - there is a definition of chalupa - is wack. Change your menu and I change my review.

Good Tex Mex food without becoming too Americanized, at least for Austin.
