We got there on a weekday an hour before opening to be safe - the queue was so friendly, you can go in for drinks and merch if you're there waiting before they've opened and once they open the queue moves fast. The team are so lovely and it was way more than we expected on all accounts - definitely go if you're in Austin and into bbq
Have wanted to experience Franklins BBQ for years. Set out on a Tuesday ready to stand in line at 10:20. Opened promptly at 11 and we were ordering by noon. Well worth the wait as the brisket melted in our mouths, can only be described as buttery. Coleslaw was perfect, potato salad MEH. Didn’t have beans or pies. No frills white bread onions pickles and jalapenos upon request. 4 sauces to choose from, recommend the original and spicy. The expresso sauce tasted like coffee grounds,...
Drove from Southern California for a BBQ road trip. This and a few other actually lived up to the hype. Plus we arrived hours before opening and hung out spoke with some great people who shared out love of BBQ.
