We've been to Giddy-Ups on several occasions, but hearing that it's closing, we made a conscientious effort to get down there and see out friend Renita behind the bar. It was open mic night and the crowd was happy, the music was fun, the drinks were perfect, and we really enjoyed ourselves. It's a shame we're loosing this gem of a dive bar. I only hope we can get one more trip in before they close. It's over 50mi from our house, but WELL worth the time...

The finest real honky tonk in S. Austin. An iconic landmark for decades. Now, recently closed due to developers taking over the land. Another casualty of money interests destroying what made Austin, Austin.

The Owners/DJ’s boyfriend seems to stalk the place and is creepy/weirdo type.. Other than that Great Old School Country Bar with Friendly & Fast Bartenders.... Prices are good and the 3 stars comes from the Owner/D.J.'s boyfriend.
