Visited this place last night on the day before Valentines with a party of 10, the reservation made two weeks prior. Waited over 30 minutes before we were approached to take appetizer orders – an additional 45 minutes before they showed up, the short version is after we put in our food orders-The total time was 2 1/2 hours without food, arriving at the table. They provided some appetizers on the house to hold us over, but never made even the smallest effort to apologize for what was simply a terrible experience. Cannot recommend, especially as all of the tables around us in the full restaurant we’re receiving their food.
As In Austin native, I am reluctant to leave any kind of reviews generally, but this one has to be left so as to warn other large groups to be aware.

Austin is competitive. Do better.

This place is a hidden gem. May not be the fanciest place in Austin but the food is a 10/10.

New ownership. No longer good, welcoming, or service oriented. Higher prices. Avoid this place.

This Italian establishment is truly great. With service at 100%, the culinary experience was matched by the delicious food. The pollo piccata I had was flavorful, and the pasta served alongside it was great. The wine I chose complemented the meal well.

Ordered to go on a Saturday night, was excited to finally try this place. Atmosphere looked lively and the service was efficient but pasta was bland (carbonara) not much sauce a small portion for price $30. Probably wouldn’t come back

For the price, this just wasn't worth it. The bruschetta came with shredded mozz which was grainy and on thick cuts of bread. The tagliatelle arrabiatta sauce was a little watery, the chicken in the picatta was rather tough to cut even though it was thinly sliced, and the bread was more like a yeast roll - not what I'd expect for an Italian restaurant. I was also surprised that the parmesan cheese topper was pre-grated and served out of a bowl - even chains like Macaroni Grill shred fresh parm over your pasta. Our server was lovely though!

My husband and I went to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary at Gino's Vino. It was the perfect place to celebrate. It was such a nice romantic date night place. The food was delicious! Our waitress was awesome! She made good recommendations for us to try. And the cherry on top of the cake was the owner's daughter saw us outside trying to take a picture and she offered to take it for us. I have to say she captured the perfect 1st wedding anniversary photo for us! Definitely a must try un Austin.

Don't eat at this place, the food is really, really bad. It's all just a facade. I'm telling you this because my partner and I ate there. I ordered a Carbonara and they only served me egg soup with spaghetti. I left vomiting. Don't go! 🤯🤢🤮🤒🤕

The chicken piccata is so good! I get a side of veggies with mine and mix it in. It’s very filling and flavorful. The bread that they give you is so tasty; I guarantee you’re not gonna be able to just have one piece!

The servers are attentive and are always there when I need them (even before I know I need them)! Let’s not forget that the moment you walk in you enter a nice elegant room with ambient lighting. It serves all vibes expectations (romantic dinners, dinner with coworkers, drinks with the girls or the buds). It

The old fashion’s are so good and even though it was for a limited time, the chocolate cake was so good and I miss it!

Right off the I-35 lies your next Italian date night spot. Gino’s is a cozy spot serving up savory pasta in a quiet, intimate setting. The service is great, and the interior screams Italian restaurant (in a good way). Our waitress was phenomenal, making jokes, taking photos of us, and giving fantastic dining recommendations. We were there for a birthday dinner so we came as a large party and everything from arrival to the end was very smooth and done with fantastic service. Parking is easy to find but you may have to settle for the accompanying lots as their front of house lot is somewhat small.

Our party ordered many different things but what we ate/tried were the house bread, burrata, gnocchi di pesce, spaghetti e polpette, chocolate cake, and the tiramisu. We also ordered their berry cosmo as a drink. Here’s a quick rundown of everything we ate: the house bread was great, crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. The burrata was creamy and pretty filling, well balanced. The gnocchi di pesce was very good with chunks of fish and shrimp throughout, very filing and savory. The spaghetti e polpette was surprisingly a miss; it was unexpectedly spicy and the texture was a bit al dente. The chocolate cake was very rich, absolutely delicious with every bite. The tiramisu was perfect, creamy and full of coffee flavor. Last but not least, the berry cosmo was sweet yet powerful, a bit too strong for our liking but we can see how others would love it alongside their meal.

By the end of our meal we were very happy with the food, service, and atmosphere. The price was a bit high but that’s to be expected in an Italian restaurant of this quality. Even when we were there till past closing they never made us feel rushed and took care of us like we were the first customers of the day. Gino’s is a great spot for an intimate date night or for anyone looking for good, classic Italian food. We recommend it to anyone looking for a spot in the area to eat or go out on a nice date.

Great Italian spot. I’m always on the hunt for a homey style Italian restaurant. This spot is great. It’s in an unsuspecting complex. The interior is cozy and dark. The menu is very vast. The calamari tasted fresh and lightly fried. The veal piccata and spicy Italian sauce pasta were very very too. We thought there would be leftovers, but we devoured it all.
