It's a middle of the road kind of place. Food is good, not great. Selection is pretty limited, but staff were all friendly and helpful. Wasn't disappointed, but if it weren't for this review I would have forgotten I had eaten there completely.

Food was ice cold and could have used more seasoning. Staff were excellent people. I’m torn. We waited 1.5 hours for our food, but I think they were under staffed for the weekend rush.

Didnt really know what to expect when going in, but honestly this was a great discovery, from good tasting food to nice staff the experience was very pleasant. I also appreciated that the portions were just right.

Nice and calm place to have a nice BBQ. the food was delicious but the surface was quite so and quite a while before we even got offered water which was the best. Apart from that we had a great time I recommend it.

As good as it gets for about a 1/3 the price of Black's. Sit down and order and you're served on plates. Been eating here since 1983. Great sides and for something different try their jambalaya. Parking is tough at peak lunchtime time. If the weather is nice they have a great outdoor dining patio.Parking: About 15 spaces on site. Street parking fairly close. Peak lunchtime can be tough. I always go early and get a front pew.
Old school Austin BBQ joint on the famous Barton Springs Rd. Excellent smoked food and delicious sides combined with great service. A must visit for Austin BBQ.

Nearly forty years later and still Our favorite go to “at the last minute restaurant” and comfort food restaurant on Barton Springs Road. Whether it’s a “3 meat” bar-b-que plate of pork ribs, brisket or sausage with fried okra and cole slaw or a hamburger an fries (best homemade in Austin!), chicken fried chicken or chicken fried steak, with a tasty side or two, you’ll not be disappointed. The friendly and attentive staff (and owner Tom) have become friends. You won’t regret making this local dining institution your home for Austin comfort food at lunch or dinner. The perfect end to your meal will be the live music under the oaks and pecan trees “out back” on the shaded patio which is a wonderful treat during Austin’s spring, summer and fall (perhaps with a serving of peach cobbler, my favorite!).Parking: Easiest location is on Josephine side street to the east, but plenty on Barton Springs Road as well. Enter heading south on Josephine or west on Barton Springs Road from Lamar Blvd. due to city imposed traffic pattern on Barton Springs Road.
