I eat Ethiopian food several times a year, in many cities. In Austin I usually go so another restaurant that’s well regarded and closer. My first time here, and I was happy with the overall experience.

The restaurant seems a little understaffed, but the food was very good, and service was friendly.

Really fantastic and authentic Ethiopian food. In an unassuming shopping center and the inside of the restaurant was a pleasant surprise compared to the outside of the building.

Clean, very friendly service and most importantly flavorful and fresh food. Meat and veggie combo plate w injera is a great place to start. Want to come back and try the lamb and seafood

It is one of the nicest places I have dined in Austin where the ambience is colorful and welcoming. Food is delicious with a lot of vegetarian options.

Our family's first Ethiopian dining experience at Habesha was a delightful adventure! The moment we stepped inside, the aroma of incense from a traditional coffee ceremony enveloped us, setting the stage for an authentic meal.

Our server was a gem. She patiently answered our questions and guided us through the menu, recommending the Veggie/Meat Platter with three meat and three vegetarian sides. We also ordered the Awazay Tibs, a flavorful lamb dish. The combination was perfect for our group of five, leaving us comfortably full.

The food was a revelation. The injera, a spongy flatbread, served as both utensil and base for the aromatic, spice-infused dishes. Each bite was a new discovery of textures and flavors. The vibrant decor kept us entertained while we waited, adding to the cultural immersion.

Habesha exceeded our expectations in every way - from the inviting atmosphere to the clean restrooms. We left with full bellies and a newfound appreciation for Ethiopian cuisine, eager to return on our next visit.

Paying lot money but the food is very small and both Awazay tibs and Derek tibs have a lot oil better give them one star ?

I was VERY disappointed with my food here, especially considering the strong reviews. The food was very greasy. The azifa veggie sandwich was not a constructed sandwich. It was pita bread with some loose azifa inbetween. Yuck. Last, they forgot the salad that it comes with. Very disappointing. I did give them two starts because the flavors were strong. I still had to throw it out though because of the grease

So much delicious food! I could eat this stuff every day. I always get the vegetarian combo platter, it’s a huge amount of food, I like variety so I don’t have to choose

The food is incredibly delicious. Very friendly and polite staff. It is really hard for me to give a 1 star to this authentic Ethiopian restaurant. However I saw a roach crawling in the establishment walls behind the bar area. Please get that checked out!!
