My mom and I came to Austin to visit my little sister who has been living here for a couple of years. It’s our first night and we were deciding on what to eat for dinner and being Filipino - we were looking for a home cooked meal and Kapatad definitely satisfied that! When we came we didn’t realize they were closing 30 mins earlier than usual because it was Sunday. My family ordered quickly but we did not feel rushed at all because the staff were very accommodating and welcoming to have us for dinner. My mom talked to the owner who took the time to talk to her for a little bit even though he had his hands full trying to clean. Our server was also seemed very kind! The food was very delicious and gave us a taste of home. Overall, we definitely felt the Filipino hospitality here and cannot recommend it anymore!

We visited here on a Friday evening and were immediately greeted and seated by the friendly host. The place was about half full. The menu has both Filipino and Chinese options, as well as basic beer and wine choices. We ordered lumpiang shanghai, lechon kawali, beef kaldereta, plain and fried rice, and a side of plain lo mein for our daughter. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't have siapao, but the portions were so big it was probably best that we didn't order anything else. Everything came pretty quickly and piping hot. Honestly, it's hard to pick a favorite, because all the dishes were delicious. I will say that the beef kaldereta had a pleasant heat to it, and the crunch in the lechon was perfect. My husband and daughter love halo-halo, but I'm not a huge fan, so I didn't expect to try any when we ordered one to finish the meal. But it was so huge that I decided to help out and I really enjoyed it!Servers were attentive, parking plentiful, and the bathrooms were clean. If we ever come back in town, we'd probably swing by Kapatad again.

I am not living in Austin but ate here several times already. Only tried the Filipino food. Aside from the regular menu, they also have changing specials. The pictures attached are from several visits. The owner is very attentive and friendly. The place is clean.Their crispy pasta meat is tender and the skin crispy. The Kare Kare is delicious, tender meat and vegetables not overcooked. The lumpia Shanghai is crispy as is the lechon kawali. The goto was special, topped with lechon kawali and chicharon bulaklak. The sizzling pork barbecue tasted sweet for me and the Kikiam was not traditional but still enjoyed them. The price is fair for the quality of the food. The have become busier for dine in and popular for take out too. I will definitely be back.

This restaurant is arguably the best restaurant i have even been to the food gets there within 5 minutes of the order being placed the atmosphere was beautiful, such as the facts about the philippines on the wall, the beautiful lights, and the display of family and friends on a wall the staff was very polite as well. The food was also very cheap for the 5 star quality of the food.Overall this is becoming my go to restaurant
