Overhyped. Got the spicy chicken sandwich and it was juicy but not very flavorful. The staff wasn’t helpful when we were asking about the menu, being it was our first time here. Ordered a Bloody Mary and the messed it up so they made another one but something was still off, maybe it was the mix they used but it was sweet. The fries were great though. That being said, not worth the drive, I’ll stick to tumble 22. The place was also freezing cold, the AC was blasting! Bring a sweater if you’re gonna eat inside and get cold easily

I loooove Hattie B’s! Finally some Nashville comes to Austin. This is by far the best Nashville hot chicken you will ever have. The place is amazing and the staff is incredible. You won’t regret coming here and will return over and over again. Try it out.

Visiting Hattie B’s in Austin on South Lamar was a treat, especially as a first-timer! I arrived about an hour before closing, which was perfect for a quiet experience with plenty of seating options. Known for its Nashville hot chicken, Hattie B's keeps the menu straightforward but filled with options, especially when it comes to sides—more than I’ve seen at similar spots.
I appreciated having a choice between grilled and fried chicken, which feels rare for a Nashville-style place. I went with the fried 3-tender plate, choosing medium spice, fries, and coleslaw. The tenders hit the mark with a juicy interior and a crisp, golden-brown exterior. Medium spice definitely had a bit of a kick, just enough to keep me on my toes but not overwhelming. I paired it with their "comeback sauce," which is their signature house dip, perfect for adding a bit of creamy, tangy balance to the heat.
The staff brought a great vibe, friendly and upbeat. I also loved the outdoor area where they have Connect 4 and Jenga for anyone wanting to hang out longer. Overall, Hattie B’s felt like a well-rounded, fun spot, and I’d definitely go back for more.

We have been wanting to come check out this location for quite a while now, and tonight was the night, and they didn’t disappoint. The spicy fried chicken, and sides were phenomenal. I finished off my meal with some great banana pudding. The service, and directions on what to order were incredible from Ody. He went above and beyond to take stellar care of us tonight. He is an out of this world great guy. We highly recommend this location, so go by and see Ody, he will definitely take care of you, and tell him that Todd sent you.

Hattie B's what can I say? The chicken was perfection to say it in one word. The potato salad was out of this world good. Baked beans..... I'm still at a loss for words to describe them, but I want more. Definitely will be back.

This place is a must visit in Austin, Texas. If you love spicy food with actual flavor behind the heat. This is where you wanna be. They have a varried menu for those picky eaters. I highly recommend the fried pickles & the pimento Mac n cheese with your meal.

Truly outstanding fried chicken. Medium spice is nicely spiced and bordering on hot. Format is counter service. No medium to dark beer but a good selection of refreshment otherwise. Food came to the table sporadically with one meal well into the time others were eating.

Been wanting to try Hattie B's (S.Lamar) for a minute. We finally had the chance to make into Hattie B's this past Saturday, after ACL.
Wow, what a disappointment. Ordered the fried chicken sandwich with fries, and 3 grilled tenders with Southern Greens & Back eyed peas. Chicken sandwich has to be the smallest portion ever, maybe 2-3 oz. The bun was cold and hard, like it had been grilled and then left out from the day before? I just ate the chicken without the bun, and the chicken itself had good flavor, but not worth $13. I was still hungry, so my wife shared one of her grilled tenders. Her serving size was much bigger. We paid about $0.50 more for her 3 tenders and each one was about 3-4 oz, for a total of about 12 oz....much better than my chicken sandwich. Anyhow, we'll stick to Cane's and won't be back to Hattie B's.
