Got two vanilla lattes from here and had to throw them away, tasted overly milky and had a weird taste. Not sure what happened but sad to waste $15
I’ve been gradually trying out Austin coffee shops throughout this year and Houndstooth is my new favorite! Not because of the coffee or location or prices (all of which are great), but because their barista this morning was the single friendliest, most inviting barista I’ve ever met in a coffee shop. I don’t know what it is about coffee that brings a weird gate-keeping, snooty energy oftentimes, but this spot was perfectly welcoming and warm for a slightly-anxious casual coffee drinker like myself! Thanks yall.

Coffee was good. Service was all right.
Asked for a vanilla latte and got an unstirred, unflavored drink. When I politely told the short haired barista, she challenged me and was very rude. Based on my bill, she definitely heard my order correctly. Just incredibly off-putting service.

I just moved and have been trying a new coffee shop each time I “need coffee”. All have been just okay/ do not stand out. This latte is probably the best latte I’ve ever had. Besides the great coffee — the service was fast, inside clean, and had lots of parking! Cannot complain!

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in town, especially because it stays open until 7 p.m. on Sundays—something that’s surprisingly hard to find! It’s a great spot to sit and relax with a warm cup of coffee. I absolutely love their mocha—it’s rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The staff is always friendly, and the space itself is cozy and inviting.
My only critique is the pastries—they’re okay but not the best. Still, for the coffee and the atmosphere, I’ll definitely keep coming back.

The staff has no sense of responsibility for customers' wellness.
I was having a coffee when two guys were watching a movie clip on a laptop at high volume for at least five minutes. When I finally said something to them, I was yelled at. The guy yelling at me used four-letter words in front of children.
The staff ignored this entirely, pretending like it wasn't happening. They didn't bother telling a customer watching a movie without headphones to stop. They also didn't step in when a customer was verbally abusing another customer.

Get rid of the short haired barista who hates her life and wants to make sure everyone knows it.
She’s always late to open the store on time and then gets frustrated with customers for being there waiting for her to open.
I used to be a regular, but won’t be coming back as long as she’s there.
