Iron Works Barbecue Reviews
As authentic as you can get. And the spicy bbq is just what it says.
Iron Works BBQ used to be a great place to eat with great food. I have been going there for several years. Recently, I noticed that the quality of the beef ribs has dropped significantly. They were not hot and on my last visit they were dry, being over cooked. That juicy flavor was no longer there. This will be my last visit to Iron works BBQ.
Best and always a treat when visiting Austin!

Iron Works Barbecue is a restaurant known for its friendly and generous staff and convenient location near the waterfront and local attractions in a historic, rustic building. The menu features a variety of Texas-style barbecue, with standouts including flavorful, tender brisket, awesome ribs, and sausage with a good snap. The beef ribs are highly praised, with many customers calling them the best in town and noting the savory, addicting rub that makes them stand out. The brisket is tender with a wonderful smoke flavor, and the sausage has a nice pop with a deep, rich flavor and just the right amount of grease. Sides such as creamed corn, mac and cheese, and coleslaw are also popular, with the mac and cheese described as nice and creamy, and the beans full of flavor. The vibe is super chill and casual, with a Texas BBQ flare, making it a comfortable place for groups. Staff members, including those at the order counter, are friendly and welcoming, contributing to a positive experience. Although parking can be challenging due to limited spaces, the restaurant’s quick service allows large groups to enjoy their meals together without long waits. It is recommended to arrive early for lunch, check for paid parking garages, and be prepared for potential wait times. Despite some perceptions of a limited menu at times, the pulled pork sandwich remains a reliable choice, and many visitors plan to return during future visits to Austin.
