I chose Javi’s Best Tex-Mex because it is mid-point between me and my sons who live in Kyle and San Marcos. I am from Corpus Christi staying in Central Austin. Come to find out, they are regulars. I am thankful that Javi did not disappoint. I had flautas and they were fine. My wife had Chimichanga and she was satisfied. We all nine had an enjoyable dinner. The waitresses were fabulous. We will definetely return.

Kid-friendliness: My three grandchildren all under three had a fine time. My youngest enjoyed refried beans. By his grunts I could tell he enjoyed them. My other grandchildren had chicken tenders and grilled cheese. They also liked their food. They were relaxed and felt right at home. No one complained.

I guess if you live nearby then this is all you would know. For me the food was OK, not very favorable though for tex mex food.

I work across the highway at a hotel, and I love it when we do Javis for dinner. I have tried many different things and I haven't found anything that I don't like. I also tell my guests to go there when they ask where they should eat, I have only had 1 person come back and say they didn't like it.

Vegetarian options: They have salads. I'm sure there are more options. I just didn't really pay attention to that. I have had a couple salads there and they were great.

Parking: It can be hard to find parking during peak hours.

Wheelchair accessibility: There are 3 or 4 handicap spots right up front

Service was bad, food and drinks were late. Took forever to get our orders placed and receive our food. Waiter never came back and checked on our table. Waiter was rude when talking to one of my coworkers. My coworkers and I have always come here after work and even get drinks. We will NEVER BE BACK TO JAVI'S AGAIN. STAY AWAY.???

The homeless camp out front was kind of offputting. The food was bland but edible. Service was OK.

WARNING WARNING WARNING
This place will forever hold a place in my brain and for all the wrong reasons. I’ve been to Tex mex spots before, but DEAR LORD THE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE! The service was mediocre, the vibe was wack, and the food…..my god the food, was horrible. As a Latino , the rice had no flavor, and that in itself, is a sin. The beans tasted like they were just poured out of a bag and heated in the microwave. The water tasted like DIRT. The “guisado” taco was absolutely disgraceful, And the enchiladas ??‍♂️ I have NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE HAD ENCHILADAS WITH MEAT SAUCE ON THEM AND KRAFT SINGLES CHEESE INSIDE! I spent $100 for 3 horchatas, a burger and fries , and some guacamole that had too much salt. Wife and I Took one biteof our food and that was it. I just waited for our son to finish his burger.

EDIT : almost forgot to add we were in town for the F1 Race also that they didn’t even grill the onion topping for the enchiladas , it’s literally just raw onions on top.

Friendly staff, fantastic atmosphere, the staff are so friendly.
Their salsa is FANTASTIC
