It’s always delicious! I usually get extra tofu instead of the veggie patties. They can also add blueberries or flavor if you ask usually. Plus they have vegan butter that comes with it. Updated from previous review on 2025-12-30

The best word I can use for Kerbey is boring. I’ve been here 8-10 times always hoping for the best, but leaving with that lame feeling. The food is generally ok, but nothing special. I’ve never seen the same employee there twice, so that’s kind of a red flag.

Kerbey Lane has a cozy, colorful, laid-back indie vibe—very much a classic Austin diner with a mix of Southwest and Greek influences. It’s usually a friendly and comfortable place that feels both retro and hip, and the staff are often known for being welcoming and accommodating. The atmosphere is family-friendly, and many locations even have patios and playgrounds.

However, my recent visit wasn’t the most pleasant. After being seated fairly quickly, my girlfriend and I waited over 15 minutes before anyone came by to take our drink order. Multiple servers and other employees walked past us without acknowledging us. It wasn’t until a regional trainer noticed that we hadn’t been helped that we received service.

Adam was extremely apologetic and provided excellent customer service, which made up for most of the lack of attentiveness we experienced. He even offered a complimentary appetizer to apologize for the inconvenience. Although the initial wait was frustrating, Adam helped turn the experience around and made the

Went there thanksgiving day. I felt so bad for my family for trying to choke down this meal graciously. I have a lot to be thankful for but this meal was not one of them. Presentation was horrible taste was even worse. Do better kerby Lane

Great location and the food is decent, they’re serving a classic menu of American breakfast. The two times that I’ve been the service is quite slow.

The food is good and prices are reasonable. Classic menu with lots of variety for any dietary restrictions. Service is always top notch. Waits can be longer on weekends but that’s normal for any popular brunch spot. I like the diner vibe and have eaten at the bar before. It’s a good place to eat if you’re on your own without feeling self-conscious.

Although food was good, we waited a long time to enjoy our food, and had a lot of trouble to get everything

We waited over 30 mins to be seated. After being seated we waited another 30mins to only order the food, the food then took 40mins, and we were constantly asking basic items for our table like napkins, water, sugars for the coffees and silverware, we even had to get up and ask other employees for some of these items. I would come back if there was better service.

Absolutely atrocious service. The hostess was kind and we were sat promptly, but the positive parts of the experience end here.

Because I paid for parking, I knew the exact time we were sat. We were disregarded by multiple servers as they passed by us multiple times. We then kindly asked one of the passing servers if she knew who our server was and she said she’d find someone (10 minutes in) At the 15 minute mark still no help and we watched the server through the glass not go and ask a hostess or manager about our server.

At this point I go to the host stand, and even though there were three employees there I still stood there, as if I was invisible. Finally, one employee asks what they can do for me. I request to speak to the manager. She turns to the employee that had been closest to me the WHOLE time I had been waiting, and tells her that I would like to speak to her.

And again, they tell me to wait. I then wait, yet again, while the manager finishes up on her tablet. I explain the situation, and what really was the final straw was the true apathy and lack of remorse that 20 minutes in, I didn’t even have a water on my table.

We decided to leave, walked 10 seconds across the way to Chuys and of course their primary competitor offered exceptional and immediate service.

Every other Kerbey Lane I’ve patroned has provided exceptional service, so I’m unsure where the disconnect is with those restaurants and the Mueller location.

I was in town for a few days and decided to go to Kerbey Lane for brunch out of nostalgia for my UT days. The server was fine; I have some dietary restrictions so she tried her best to explain the menu and ingredients which happened to be exclusively vegan and/or gluten free. She wasn’t all that knowledgeable about the menu or food they served in general, which I thought was interesting and honestly a little funny. The food was terrible (I genuinely don’t remember it being that inedible when I was a student): dry, grainy and bland. The bacon and eggs that came with the breakfast plate I ordered (which were the only food products on the plate that resembled something even relatively appetizing) became cold and dry because the server had to run back and forth to ask the manager about the ingredients of certain food items. The biscuit….well the video accompanying this review pretty much sums up my experience eating (well, trying to, at least) at that restaurant. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Kerbey Lane anytime soon, especially the Mueller location lol.

The service was perfect, the food was quickly delivered once we ordered our meal. The drinks too a minute to get to us since they had to make the syrup for the drink. The atmosphere was great outside but inside we could hardly hear each other speak from across a couples table next to the windows.
