Fantastic food. Simple and delicious, the delicate notes of the sushi are well preserved. However, you can tell the staff are underpaid and overworked with some of them being occasionally disgruntled. They’re definitely not trying to be friendly in a consistent manner but their attitude is tolerable. It does make the experience a little more unrefined or ghetto though. This spot could easily be a really nice spot with friendlier staff.

The dood is tasty, but rolls often falling apart. They prioritize quantity over quality. But overall atmosphere is good, visit this place time to time. Would recommend to try at least once.

Kids love it but they are gimmicked up to the gills with the overpriced claw machines and plate incentives for junk prizes. Decent sushi for the price.

Fun experience. Food was average quality. You can grab whatever comes around on the belt for 3.50 a plate, or order from the tablet. Plates can add up quickly. Miso soup was overly salty.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is definitely a novelty dining experience and worth trying at least once for the unique setup. The main attraction is the conveyor belt system, where a variety of sushi and small plates move past your table for you to grab as you please. It’s fun and different, but your experience can vary depending on where you’re seated. If you’re closer to the start of the belt, you’ll see a wide variety of fresh options. If you’re further down the line, you might be left with fewer choices as items get taken earlier.
Pricing is per plate, which makes it easy to try a little bit of everything, but it can also add up quickly if you’re not keeping track. Every so often, after a set number of plates, an animation plays on the small screen at your table, and sometimes you even receive a small toy or prize, which is a nice touch for kids or first-time visitors.
The food itself is decent, but nothing exceptional for the price once the novelty wears off. For me, it was more about the experience than the flavor, and it’s easy to overspend without realizing it.
Overall, it’s a fun spot to visit once just to see how it works and enjoy the novelty of sushi gliding past your table, but I wouldn’t make it a regular dining choice.

First time visiting Kura in Austin. It is much larger than the Katy location. Everyone loved their food. Would definitely go back.

Great service. The salmon skin roll is very oily burning hot seems off. Need to dry off salmon skin before rolling up as hot oil on the thin seaweed roll will cook through.
One of the best food quality besides omakase, a little bit pricey but worth the taste.

Just okay. Fun if you’ve never had conveyor belt sushi and also haven’t had good sushi. Anything that should’ve been crunchy was soggy and there were only two of each item through the belt so most were gone by the time they got to us. Service was slow to respond to drink refills, more wasabi, the check, etc.

Great for quick and easy sushi. Fun atmosphere with constant sushi revolving around the restaurant for your picking and robots who deliver drinks. Eat 15 plates and you get a trinket from the machine above your table.
Can be somewhat expensive for what it is depending on the plates you grab. Most are ~$3.55 and come with only 2 pieces. Good for mix and matching pieces though.

Kura was a fun experience and the sushi was great for the price point. The variety of items on the conveyer belt surprised us and the robot that brings your drinks is a cool touch. My only downside was that the staff did not offer to explain how everything worked and they walked by the table many times without refilling the drinks.
