I ordered the steak tacos and they were soggy and I had to eat the filling with a fork. The dishes my family ordered were ok. They were ok in taste. It was weird to have white rice in a Mexican restaurant. Our waiter Ryan was amazing though. Ambience is nice, but nothing to speak about.

More like inferior Mexican cuisine.I don't have a problem with Tex-Mex, but this place takes it too far. Everything is sweet. The ranchera sauce has way too much tomato paste and probably (definitely?) sugar. The chile relleno tastes like some kind of Italian dish that's halfway to being a dessert. The chicken is dry and the chips that they serve you are mostly crumbs. Other reviews here have already pointed out that they serve white rice with beans. I'm hoping that the explanation as to why is that the kitchen is too lazy to make Spanish rice. I don't want to believe this is something their patrons prefer, but it seems somewhat likely. I've been curious about this place for a long time and left wishing I'd never wondered. Horrible service BTW. Seems they're at least somewhat aware that the food is no good anyhow.

Wonderful spot to celebrate Valentine's Day while we were out of town. The food was absolutely amazing, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and we were pleasantly surprised with the vibe of the restaurant itself given the location in a shopping center. We will keep Las Palomas in our hearts and on our list to revisit when we are in Austin again!

I ordered to go and first time to try this place and was wildly disappointed with the amount of beef fajitas I received for almost $20 and the quality of the food was really gross. Super

Food is great. New credit card system is not good. Fine print indicates that the credit card processing system will use your data for more than paying the bill. Also, the system calculates the tip on the meal plus the tax.

Good service, great chips and salsa. Hard to forgive the store bought texture tortillas and the lack of seasoning in the meats. Fajitas were really tough and chewy. Overall it was okay but there are far better in town.

We visit this favorite nearly weekly and for some reason it was extremely noisy last night. They need to make an effort to seat families with kids who don't care about the music which is on Thursdays & Saturdays in different room. It ruins it for those who really enjoy the jazz music. They just talk louder to be heard over the music. We may try going later after kids are gone.

From the appetizer to dessert, delicious! I got the verde enchiladas and they come with rice and beans. The white rice was too good. The service was super great too. Our waitress was super nice and attentive and the owner, or manager, was friendly and caring. I highly recommend this

Las Palomas is our favorite Mexican food restaurant in the Austin area for several years now. We took a guest there on this visit, and she was very pleased. The staff is friendly, and the classic Mexican dishes are well prepared and delicious!

We booked a reservation for 7 for a birthday. The music was lovely, the best part of the evening aside from our family. The table was too small to move comfortably with 7 people. The food was okay, the rice needed seasoning. A food runner brought out a sopapilla that we didn't know was for our birthday woman and so we sent it back only to have it return this time with a lit candle, then it was obvious. The service/waitress was superb until the check was dropped and then it was hostage by check, the manager ended up tabbing us out. For $250 it was mediocre.
