this cozy little spot feels like somebody’s home kitchen that just happens to serve the public. Everything tastes like it was made that morning (because it was). The food is honest, hearty, and seriously tasty, and the coffee is the kind you want a second (and third) cup of. Don’t even get me started on the desserts; I almost clapped when the pie hit the table.
The lunch specials are stupidly affordable—I kept checking the receipt to make sure they didn’t forget to charge me for something!
Every single person working there, from the guy clearing plates to the servers, is genuinely warm and happy to see you. And Sam, the man steering the ship? Total pro. I’ve never seen someone juggle tickets that fast while still cracking jokes and making every guest feel like a regular. I actually walked up to him after my meal just to shake his hand and tell him he’s running something special.
I eat out for a living—hotels and diners coast to coast—and this place is easily in my top five nationwide. I’m already trying to figure out how to route my next trip back through town just for another meal here. Can’t recommend it enough.

Came to Austin with my family to visit my sister and ended our trip at Mandolas, what a wonderful experience. The food, service, and setting was phenomenal to say the least. I began a conversation with one of the restaurants managers and spoke about personal experiences and the well being of the restaurant itself. To my surprise the manager treated me to a wonderful piece of their chocolate fudge cake. Great staff and food. Would always recommend.

My cousin (a high school student) and I (a college student) ordered from the kids’ menu, which clearly states that it comes with a free drink and a free gelato. At other Mandola’s locations, we’ve always received exactly that with no issue.

This time, not only did we not get the drink or gelato, but when we asked about it, the staff told us they “can’t give it to anyone over 12.” No one mentioned this at any point — not when we ordered, not when they took our payment, and not when they served the meal. The server just dropped the food on the table and walked away without saying a word. We only found out there was an issue after we finished our meal and went to the gelato counter, where they refused to honor what the menu promised.

If there’s an age policy, it should be clearly communicated when ordering. We specifically chose the kids’ meal only because the menu advertised the drink and gelato.

On top of that, the food was pretty mid, and the upcharge for chicken was almost the same cost as the entire pasta dish — $6 extra for a meal that was around $8.

Overall, very disappointing service, zero communication, and not consistent with other Mandola’s locations. Definitely not the kind of customer experience we expected.

I’ve loved Mandolas for years, and deciding to hire them to cater my wedding was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Their catering coordinator NJ was absolutely amazing from initial inquiry to tasting to wedding and 5000 emails in between. She communicated well with professionalism, the ability to make me feel so comfortable throughout the entire experience, and a good sense of humor. She was incredibly kind and accommodating of all our unusual requests and I highly recommend their catering, especially the mobile pizza oven which was a huge hit with our guests.

Went for dinner while visiting Austin with my son. Looked like good atmosphere and food. My son’s dish was good but I had the special of the day and the chicken was cold and dry as a result of being overcooked. Focaccia with olive oil was good!! Overall ok place to eat and honestly, they have good options, I think I just had bad luck. I will return to try it a second time. Avg price is $15-$20

Food and service was fantastic. Steven did a ln excellent job checking on our experience and made it that much more special with a special dessert treat for my daughter’s 16th birthday. Amazing night!

First visit to the restaurant and it was wonderful. I'm Sicilian so having some classic recipes available was a wonderful thing, especially since most Italian food here in the States is based on northern Italian food. Mandola's Hero was an amazing choice!! One of my friends got something that she didn't quite like and the manager came out and apologized and offered us some cookies as a thank you for coming out. Excellent service, excellent food, I will be coming back!

Order inside and we sat outside to enjoy the nice weather. Their lunch portions are a good size.

Easily accessible to office. Staff are friendly and the food is good. Didn't give 5 stars due to the water tasted off, like maybe there was soap left on the cup, the table was a bit wobbly and the environment just a bit too loud for me. But overall a great place to grab lunch!
