I wish I could give this place higher than 5 stars. Fantastic food, great ambiance, and hospitality is the best I have received. If you are looking for Italian in Austin, this is the only place you’ll ever need. Steven made our first time here one we will never forget, and we will be back to help keep this place a Austin treasure.

Best Italian restaurant in Austin Texas. Every time I come down from Corpus Christi this is the first restaurant me and my family stop to enjoy an authentic Italian meal.

✨ Chef’s kiss from start to finish. ✨

I ordered the Chicken Capricciosa, and WOW, this was hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time at Mandola’s. The chicken was pan-fried to absolute perfection: juicy, tender, and soft on the inside with a beautifully crispy breaded crust that had crunch without being hard. Perfection ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The fresh salad on top was bright, crisp, and perfectly balanced. The balsamic vinaigrette was light, flavorful, and not overpowering at all. It did its job perfectly, it elevated the dish and complemented the chicken instead of stealing the show. Every bite was was a perfect balance of flavors and textures.

The fettuccine in tomato cream sauce? Creamy, rich, and downright comforting. I added parm and red pepper 🌶️ mmmmm, mmmmm!
Oh, and let’s talk about the focaccia bread…fluffy, light, with just the right crispy edges. Not hard, not dry: it had that perfect golden crust with a soft, airy inside. Exactly how focaccia should be. Plain goodness!

This was a different location than the one I usually visit, and the difference in quality and preparation was definitely noticeable. My last few experiences at the other location were disappointing, so this meal was such a pleasant (and delicious) surprise. It completely reminded me why I love this restaurant when it’s done right.

On top of all that, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, kind, and professional. The atmosphere was calm, comfortable, and not overly loud. Just a relaxed, enjoyable dining experience all around. ☺️

Truly outstanding food, excellent service, and a peaceful vibe. I enjoyed every single moment and every single bite. 1000/10 — will absolutely be back. 🍝🍗✨

The lemon cookie was great and very flavorful. The water was cold.
I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken & a Caesar salad.
However, the chicken was dry and tough. The fettuccine noodles were stuck together and there wasn't enough sauce.
The salad was a salad.
It was disappointing. Kinda like the Taco Bell of Italian food.

What a fantastic lunch that feels like a visit to a cafe/bakery in the middle of Italy.

I’ve enjoyed dining at Mandola’s a number of times; this long post is a special appreciation. My Dad passed away last month before Christmas and suddenly there were a million tasks, including how/where to host a lunch for family and friends after my Dad’s burial.
After another emotionally exhausting meeting to make funeral and burial plans, I stopped in to Mandola’s and spoke with managing partner Sam Parigi about possibly having our lunch in their side room. He could not have been more compassionate.
On the day of the burial, we headed to Mandola’s after. Everything went so well, it was a relief. Sam was not on site that day but had conveyed my family’s plan to the manager-on-duty Rodolfo (sp?) and cashier Ubit (sp?) who managed our large group graciously and professionally. Even the representative at the coffee station was very patient with our group.
Mandola’s cannot limit the side room to one party, but it was tidy and looked like it was waiting for us. The food as always was delicious and comforting, just what was needed. My Dad would have loved the pasta and soup dishes and dessert. The younger family members could stretch out and explore the pastries.
I wont forget the kind reception to my first visit and how well everything went for my family. Thank you, Mandola’s!

Chouette Éclatante

Got Chicken Alfredo, Garlic Bread, and Pistachio Gelato
The gelato was fine, didn't really have pistachio taste but the other two were not good at all.

Mandolas is a wonderful restaurant. I love going in on Thursday. That's the day they have Cannelloni Florentina. It is delicious. Thin sheets of pasta stuffed with braised chicken, spinach, Romano & Fontina cheeses, baked in a became sauce with a touch of marinara. I pair it with a Mista salad. Nice mix of greens, olives, a bit of celery and a wonderful house dressing oils, herbs and cheese. Yum! The wait staff are friendly and attentive. They are the only restaurant in the area that the staff clears away plates and bowls to give you room to rest your arms, or make room for desert plates. It's always satisfying to eat at Mandolas. I take friends or meet friends at the restaurant often. It's nice to see the same staff at the restaurant. Managers and staff come to your table to check on you and ask if you need anything. If you do need something they bring it right away! I will be going back soon.
